Ture, this
I want to point something out that's been missed about the Rory Stewart furore this week. I preface this by saying I am not an advocate of cancel culture. It's the huge double standard I am pointing out. The Spectator released the podcast episode where he made his very controversial remarks about the rape gangs being a historic problem and, in relative terms, an irrelevant issue for the UK compared to AI and the UK's international role on 15th September. It caused uproar on X. But he just carried on about his business. No grovelling apology, no statement clarifying what he meant. Kemi Badenoch faced no calls to condemn a former MP for her party. Michael Gove who had largely nodded and hmmed appreciably along to Rory's answer, similarly felt no need to clarify his position or explain why he did not challenge Rory's argument and instead pivoted to a separate theme about British citizenship and integration. And here is Rory Stewart sitting on the BBC Newsnight couch 3 days later calm as can be holding forth again. If you are an elite in the liberal centre you have immunity from the consequences of your words. If someone who was a prominent figure connected to Reform had said something so crass, tin eared and factually wrong, then the likes of Newsnight, Times Radio, and The Independent would still be in full flow trying to maximise damage for the party and get the person cut adrift. I disagree with Rory Stewart's remarks. I think the remarks ess shows the effects of a mind that has been addled, possibly through its exposure to opium on his travels that he confessed to. I would not insist he be deplatformed, fired from his own podcast, and shunned. I just find the imbalance between how his remarks have been tolerated by the political and cultural establishment and how someone like Danny Kruger or Matt Goodwin might be treated in a similar situation galling. Michael Gove and the liberal-collectivist establishment simply treated Stewart's remarks as free speech in the political arena that was contentious. Perhaps the lesson for mainstream centre right and right of centre politicos is we have to become more willing to ride out social media storms and dismiss the premise of legacy media attacks.

People prob don't realise how important this is. It keeps China on watch, now it is navigating around the top of the planet, Trump can mine for re-armament which China can currently hamper big time. The US will have to get local agreement from 'indigenous' people for mining, tho. – at Midhurst, England
BREAKING: President Donald J. Trump announces complete and permanent American security control over Greenland, and excludes any adversary from Greenland and the surrounding region.

BREAKING The government of Greenland and the Danish Prime Minister’s office have released a joint statement on an agreement with the United States. Unsurprisingly, the statement does not match the sweeping nature of Trump’s post on Truth Social. Denmark and Greenland are saying they expect to sign a new security agreement with the United States at the UN next week. They say it will strengthen the Arctic and North Atlantic, while preserving Danish sovereignty and Greenland’s right to self-determination. The agreement also has to go through parliament before it takes effect. I don’t have any insight how that will be received but we do know that President Trump’s approval rating amongst the Danish is 4% (four percent). Trump is describing that same agreement in much more sweeping terms, saying it gives the USA permanent control over Greenland’s security, the power to block adversaries from establishing military bases or making sensitive investments there, and the ability to build a major US military presence.

96% of Jews in Poland were murdered by the Nazis. That is genocide. 3% of Gaza’s population, mostly male combatants, died in the war they started. That is not genocide.

The Greenland deal is Classic Trump 101: start with the wild ask — “we should own Greenland” — get everybody freaking out, and then negotiate toward what you really want. And what did he want? A bigger, permanent U.S. security footprint in Greenland and a way to keep China and Russia out. You can hate the style, but this is how he deals: start huge, create leverage, then land the part you actually came for. #Greenland @realDonaldTrump

The OBR forecast for Bank of England bond losses autumn 2022-2036 was an astonishing £288 bn. How much has this reduced by in the latest changes the Chancellor approved? Taxpayers need to know as they are paying.

(Former RAF) Wethersfield has 17 new minibuses to ferry 800 illegal migrants into nearby towns. The local public bus service to Braintree has been stopped. The migrants have their own GP surgery and nurses. 20% have TB, a disease eradicated in the UK. Sometimes, I wonder whether this is an experiment to see how much provocation the British people can take before they finally snap. What do you think?

A huge win for The United States.
BREAKING NEWS: I am pleased to announce that the United States of America has entered into an Agreement with The Kingdom of Denmark, and Greenland, that gives the United States permanent control over security, and all other needs, in Greenland, completely addressing ALL of our many U.S. concerns. There will be NO COST to the United States! At my direction, we worked with representatives of Denmark and Greenland to guarantee that the United States will FOREVER have the complete ability to do what is necessary in Greenland in order to secure and defend the security of Greenland, and the United States of America. Additionally, from now on, no U.S. adversary can EVER have a base in Greenland, have a military presence in Greenland, or make sensitive investments in Greenland, without our express written approval. For over 100 years, Presidents have known the strategic importance of Greenland, but NONE of them were able to do anything about it. I am proud to be the President that permanently and conclusively addressed this very important situation. This is an “Infinite Life” Agreement, there is no end! We are very honored and proud of what has just taken place, and everything agreed to today will be cherished by the American People. We will immediately begin the process of developing a large Military presence in the appropriate part of Greenland, of which there are many. We will work with the people of Greenland in its development and construction. This solution is a great one for the United States of America, Denmark, Greenland, and all of our Allies. We look forward to working with the wonderful people of Denmark and Greenland toward a magnificent future with respect to this large, and highly strategic, parcel of land. We will be very protective of it! This is a dream come true for the United States of America, one that is very important, historic, and special. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Or, 'in the UK, native kids are underperforming immigrants'. We're definitely *not* doing OK...'
Throughout Europe, school results for children of migrants are worse than natives Only in UK are they actually better In fact, UK 2nd-gen migrants do better than ANY Euro cohort: native or immigrant If demography is destiny, UK's doing ok. My column:- times-comment.com/britishkid…

Well done to @edsheeran for going on stage with his guitar and proving that he can perform solo. I thought he was wrong not to speak out against the rapper hijacking his shows but he got rid of him and a bunch of spineless rats followed. All the usual subjects have popped up on TV to have their say. Each one more dumb than the last. Faithless Paloma telling us she whispers 'free Palestine' into her kids ears before they sleep. Now that's radical!

Idiots like Hari Reed have smashed sympathy for Piddington, I wonder what their neighbours will think of them hijacking their plight with their left-wing agenda. She runs a.. wait for it 🥁.. “asylum seekers” charity, and has a PHD in “immigration studies”, but thinks her village is unsuitable for them. Your’s, of course, is not.
So we have Hari Reed and Rachel Marsh Both of them are pro migrant Both want migrants in the UK But both don't want migrants in their village of Piddington The hypocrisy is staggering It just never ends

Among many worrying points, this column contains two facts which should cause serious concern for the upcoming winter: The Saudis have told European refineries there will be no oil deliveries in October. Europe is filling is gas storage tanks for winter later and from a thinner starting point than usual. Mid-September 2026 levels are the lowest for this date in well over a decade.

Imagine you are a builder who is about to start work on a new bathroom & kitchen for a house worth about £1.4 million. Then realise that your Government is incentivising your client not to do that work on their house!!!

Our uninvited guests, cooking in their rooms?
Around 200 people were evacuated from a hotel in Folkestone overnight after a fire broke out.  26 fire engines were sent to the Grand Burstin Hotel. Nobody was injured. A welfare centre has been set up at a nearby sports hall.

Because the decent public services never come. The more we spend, the worse they get. To highlight just one area... we're a nation that spends hundreds of millions NOT to build tunnels. £179m on the Stonehenge tunnel, despite not a single metre being dug. £300m on a planning application for the Lower Thames Crossing which spanned 359,000 pages. £1bn gone, just like that, before a spade had even touched the ground. £2.1bn written off on the HS2 leg that will never get built. The tax burden is heading for the highest level since records began. Now look around and tell me what it's bought us. Nobody resents decent public services, or paying for them for that matter. They resent paying for them multiple times over, and never receiving them. The money was spent. So where are the decent public services?
Billionaire Brexiteeer and Man United owner says he has lost confidence in the UK. Lives in Monaco to avoid UK taxes, owns several luxury properties. Demands subsidies for Man U stadium. Why do billionaires resent people getting decent public services? bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cm04…

An Algerian migrant working illegally as a #Deliveroo driver has been jailed for 21 years for raping a semi-conscious woman he dragged off a street “like a rag doll”.  Salem Rekoub, 28, was seen on CCTV smirking after following his victim’s ambulance to hospital aiming to “get to the woman again”.  They are all pure animals. #CRIME 🇬🇧 britify.uk 🇬🇧
