The Dogs were informed last night of Zak Butters' intention to join them. Needless to say, they are ecstatic.
Everything has been geared towards this: Re-signing close friend Buku Khamis for five years, Tim English categorically staying, upping the deal... All to project stability & strength.
Now Butters will get to play alongside Bont, whose poster was on his wall as a teenager.

The perfect way to kick off Cox Plate day, Beast Mode delivered an emphatic win in R1 at The Valley today for his owners 🔥
With Craig Williams in the saddle, Beast Mode was too quick to catch over the 1000m and the team are thrilled to see him take the next step going up in grade today.
Congratulations to his whole ownership group on having a winner on Cox Plate day 🤩

🏇 WFA Performance Ratings ⏱️⚖️📊 – Top 5 Winners from Moonee Valley & Rosehill
🌍 Beiwacht – 108
The Golden Rose gave us something extraordinary. Beiwacht’s 108 was a genuine world-class performance.
Scintillating sustained pace, with every cross-check you want to use; the clock itself, comparisons to other 1400m races on the day, and the spread of margins behind backed up by ratings of those horses, all supporting Beiwacht’s figure.
It’s rare to see numbers of this calibre. Can he repeat it? Time will tell.
What I do know is that every elite horse has an “oh wow” performance, the moment they shift in our minds from “above average” to “potentially elite.” That doesn’t mean they reproduce it every start (Nature Strip is the perfect example), but it proves they have the talent to reach those heights. Saturday might have been Beiwacht’s moment. It came at the right age, in the right race, and is not something to dismiss lightly. Whether he reproduces it or not remains to be seen, but on the day, we have to call it what it was: world-class.
💎 Charm Stone - 104 (G1 Manikato Stakes)
She resumed with a huge new 104 peak in the Manikato, improving from her previous best of 99.7, when she won the G1 Sangster in Adelaide earlier this year, also first-up.
With numerous 1200m references to compare on the night, and a clear 2+ length margin in two in-form horses, Baraqiel and Magic Time, there's no denying the quality of her performance.
⭐️ Pride Of Jenni – 102 (G2 Feehan)
Pride Of Jenni’s Feehan Stakes win was fascinating not just for the figure, a strong 102, but for how differently she went about it.
Known for her “catch me if you can” style, this time she was rated in one of the most controlled front-running tempos of her career. Through the first 800m, she rated -2.3L versus the TopRate standard, the second slowest tempo she’s ever run in 31 starts when leading at that point. To put it in perspective, her median speed to the 800m when leading has been +6.4L. That means she went 8.7L slower than the midpoint of her full range of leading splits.
While the overall rating sits just below her best 103-104 range over the last 12 months, it showed another layer to her profile, which may, in fact, help her go deeper into the spring.
YES BONT!! 💪🏼
Through & through.
He's all ours. Bontempelli has signed on for another 4 years 🐶

If Bont doesn’t re-sign this week then I don’t think there’s a chance he goes. This is the week where the club needs a boost.
Can @westernbulldogs please let us know when The Bont is signing. It’s time. Surely it can get sorted now…. 🖊️ 🙏
