Part of the story is not just understanding a Democratic surge but a Democratic surge in the face of incredible gerrymandering.

Good morning Moderate America. It’s good to see you again. Keep it up.

The murder of Alex Pretti remains a heartbreaking tragedy, but I can’t imagine a greater tribute to him than this.
Nine months ago, Alex Pretti was on Nicollet Ave when federal agents disarmed him before shooting him at least 10 times, killing him. Today, America is voting, and in Minneapolis, people are showing up on Nicollet Ave in the rain to place their “I Voted” stickers at his memorial.

Dr. El-Sayed is a fighter for our American Constitution, he’s a fighter for our American Democracy, and he’s a fighter against the corrupt, lawless, and anti-American leadership currently in the White House. That’s why I’m in his corner 100%. Bruce Springsteen

Barely coded white supremacy.
Trump in Iowa is now associating Haley Stevens with his big lie about elections: "Haley Stevens just went out and endorsed Mike Rogers, and Mike Rogers is apple pie. Mike Rogers is apple pie. And you know with this country needs? A little apple pie ... they tabulate it with their machines ... I'd love for her join the Republican Party."

The level of cynicism that seems to be at play here is GOBSMACKING.
I spoke with Haley Stevens yesterday. Feeling a bit absurd in pointing out the obvious and being far kinder than I should have been, I reminded her that the outcome of this senate race will be viewed in the light of a future Supreme Court vacancy, and I expressed a hope that all of us understand the stakes. She assured me she's supporting Dr. El-Sayed, sent me a video of a recent speech she gave blasting Mike Rogers and said this: "Still stands. I promise." She also said she's been sending this video to other folks to make it clear where she stands on this race. Again: that was yesterday. I have known Haley Stevens for years. I have counted her as a friend and an ally. We've had many thoughtful conversations about this country, and she has never failed to remind me that her mother is a fan of my writing. Whatever other political differences we have, she has always made it clear to me she would stand with LGBTQ people. It was a red line she refused to cross. Instead, she has made the inexplicable decision to endorse a man who views LGBTQ Americans as second-class citizens unworthy of full equality. I can't help but wonder what her mother must be thinking right now. I have no idea what has happened to the person I thought I knew, but clearly, she has completely taken leave of her senses in endorsing a Republican who is little more than a Trump sycophant -- less than 24 hours after promising me that she has not wavered from the bigger picture. I am disgusted with her cynicism and cowardice in this moment. God forgive me for trusting her. If you're a Michigan voter and as disgusted as I am, get to your polling place and vote for Dr. El-Sayed.

Working class people’s lives are on the ballot on Tuesday—their healthcare, their rent, their bills. Haley Stevens just betrayed them by endorsing the very Republican she said she wanted to run against.
I am endorsing Mike Rogers for the United States Senate today.

It’s almost as if this argument is attempting to sensationalize Alberta’s relative influence vs Toronto while ignoring that the relative populations of Alberta and Toronto.
In the last federal election, Alberta gave the Conservatives a 32-seat edge. The City of Toronto alone gave the Liberals a 22-seat edge. “One city, in other words, offset nearly 70 percent of an entire province’s net Conservative advantage.” thehub.ca/2026/10/30/what-ch…

Dude is becoming a walking/talking billboard for trade diversification.
Cleveland-Cliffs CEO: I bought Stelco because I could not afford anymore having Stelco flooding the market here in the United States to the detriment of my own company. David Cochrane: Am I understanding you correctly there? It was a defensive acquisition?

I voted earlier today in the Ottawa municipal election @laine_johnson1 was an easy choice for councillor. She’s been a tenacious and excellent advocate at City Hall for College Ward. But the choice for Mayor was hard. I won’t say how I voted but all the choices were depressing.

Hal vs George is wild.
Four championships in five years still weren’t enough to make George Steinbrenner stop pushing.

I think Canada takes itself too seriously if it thinks Canada trade will determine the outcome of any election or that the Democrats will ride to Canada’s rescue on any of the substantive issues Trump is raising in the negotiations. Fantasy is not a strategy.
