I've got for you now one of the best and most sophisticated conversations about the midterms that you can hear anywhere.
Election Day is almost here, and the prediction markets are telling a story of their own.
Doug Sosnik and @LPDonovan debate where the value is — and where the markets may be getting it wrong.
@billsperos breaks down Texas and Michigan, while the @NextUpHalperin team looks at South Carolina, Maine, and the races to watch.
All that and more on today’s new episode of @NextUpHalperin Predictions.

“MAGA has the capacity to have these fights— just brutal, vicious fights and then kind of move on,” says @MarkHalperin about the GOP post mortem on the midterms debacle. “But this one’s going to be compelling. And of course, it’s going to impact, amongst others, the vice president. He’s going to be caught in that. So will someone win that fight or will it just be a circular firing squad where everyone will die, like at the end of a Tarantino movie?” @LarryOConnor @KevinPWalling
Who’s calling the shots in Washington, and who will President Trump listen to?
@MikeNellis, @MikeNellis, and I broke down the new congressional map, the balance of power after the midterms, and who’s leading the Democrats and Republicans.
Plus, the latest from Trump, Vance, and Schumer.

"They're explicitly in conflict." Trump and Vance have split in the wake of the midterms on one very important topic.
A political earthquake. A new balance of power. And two parties facing some serious questions.
I'll be joined on “2WAY Tonight” by Democratic strategist @MikeNellis and Republican strategist @kvnsheridan to unpack the 2026 midterm results, what went wrong for Republicans, what Democrats got right, and what comes next.

IF YOU WANT TO UNDERSTAND HOW DEMOCRATS PRODUCED THE BLUE TSUNAMI:
As I reported for several weeks, the way a Democratic candidate in a Red state goes from "can't possibly win" to "can't possibly lose" is to turn four dials -- three just a bit and the fourth a lot, from the last federal election to this one (over two years).
The three dials that need to turn just a little:
1. The contribution of the total vote from Democratic voters needs to go up.
2. The contribution of the total vote from Republicans voters needs to go down.
3. The percentage of Republican voters who vote Democratic needs to go up.
The one that needs to turn a LOT (and maybe a record amount over two years) is the percentage of independents that votes for the Democrat.
This chart compares 2024 South Carolina (for @KamalaHarris ) to 2026 (for @AnnieAndrewsMD ).
The numbers for the other Democrats who won in Red states and districts won't be exactly the same, but the concept of the four dial turns will be present in all of the Red-to-Blue switches.
The midterms delivered a stunning political blow to Republicans, but was it a rejection of Trump, a warning about the economy, or a sign that American politics is shifting in a more populist direction? @MarkHalperin joins Call Me Back to examine. Listen here: lnk.to/800Y9R

Dems will get 55 Senate seats and 250+ House seats. Looking at the Senate map and considering such a massive House margin, it is very unlikely Republicans will recapture the Congress in 2028. Might not have a shot at Senate control until 2032.
