I don't have it all figured out. I never have. People sometimes assume that because I write about faith, I must have some kind of certainty the rest of the world is missing. The honest answer is the opposite. Most mornings I wake up with more questions than answers. I mess up regularly. I lose my patience with the people I love most. I forget to pray for days at a time and then feel guilty about forgetting. But I have learned that following Christ was never about getting it right. It was always about getting back up. The prayer when we don't feel like praying. The apology we owe. The decision to keep going when giving up makes more sense. That is what faith looks like when you take it off the page and put it into a life. Messy. Imperfect. Full of restarts. We don't have to have it all figured out. We just have to keep walking. What is one small step you can take today, even if you feel completely lost?

During a silent patrol, the crew of a Royal Navy Amphion-class submarine investigates an unfamiliar sound echoing through the hull. In the 125-year history of the Royal Navy Submarine Service nearly 6000 submariners and over 150 submarines never returned. Lest we forget.

Churches like the large and wealthy Highland Park United Methodist will continue to steer their own course and regard denominations as inconsequential to their mission. Most of American Christianity now agrees. The age of great national denominations with millions of members is ending in America.  @thedispatch thedispatch.com/article/glob…

On 23 October 1918, Dame Agnes Weston — “The Sailors’ Friend” — passed away. At her funeral, over 2,000 naval officers and men gathered to honour her - the first woman buried with full Naval honours. Yesterday, our CEO laid a wreath at Weston Mill Cemetery in her memory.

The national resilience moment that very nearly barely happened: A huge amount of work has gone on behind the scenes to plan for the "Be Ready" rollout, which was first trailed during the dying days of Sir Keir Starmer's government. Andy Burnham inherited the project as well as leadership of the much-promised but minimally-delivered national conversation on defence. Yet he appears to have chosen not to speak out on the launch of the new readiness campaign despite its national significance. Even Dan Jarvis, the security minister, who is leading on resilience, stayed away from journalists on Thursday, instead just publishing his ministerial statement and sending out a written post on social media. This lacklustre approach was met privately with disappointment among members of the resilience community. The concern - rightly or wrongly - is that it creates the impression that preparing the country (every post code!) for the possibility of any crisis, up to and including war, is not a top priority for the government. news.sky.com/story/be-ready-…

And it’s time for home! A fantastic few days of trekking the Sahara with great group of people, raising money to further the work that @Aggie_Westons do for naval families. Good conversation, great memories and tired feet.
