One day we'll be appalled that we let kids get on social media at any age. Supportive of this 👇🏻 nbcnews.com/world/asia/austr…
100%, and I feel this even more as I hire people.

NEW! Casual and Regular viewers in YouTube Analytics!
#Creators, #YouTube #Analytics now has new, casual, and regular viewer metrics!
NEW: Hasn’t watched your channel in the selected time period
CASUAL: Watched at least once a month, 1-5 out of the last 12 months
REGULAR: Watched at least once a month, 6+ out of the last 12 months
(These replace the old “Returning” metric but you can still find that in Advanced analytics if you really want it!)
Watching means an engaged view on a Short, long-form, live, or podcast, the data goes back to March 17, 2025, and your channel needs to have been around long enough, and posted frequently enough, for the data to be there ofc.
And if your regular viewers are lower than expected… that’s to be expected!
Even if you get similar views across your videos, that doesn’t mean it’s the same people watching. It can often be very different people watching. It’s not unusual for regular viewers to be a tiny percentage of total viewers. That’s exactly what the new metrics are meant to help creators understand and strategize around!
Any questions, let me know!
When you're in the middle of making a deck about YouTube analytics and the whole UI changes... 😅
I like it tho!
Not a fan of this change, or the explanation. Would’ve appreciated a more public acknowledgment that this is likely about keeping up with competing platforms that count views more generously. Let’s be honest, 0.1 seconds isn’t a real "view", anywhere.
Shorts creators: Starting 3/31, Shorts views will count the number of times your Short starts to play or replay (w/ no minimum watch time) to give you a deeper understanding of your reach 📈
This update won’t impact earnings or YPP eligibility

Is it me or are there a lot more commercials played during @NFL games than there used to be? 😵💫
Even if you truly mean "My heart goes out to you", maybe be a little more careful with this sorta gesture? 🤔
Creators- if you don't understand the mechanism by which a sponsor makes money, ask them to clarify that or walk away from the deal. There should be no mystery.

If you're a man who's achieved success—whether that's professionally or in finding happiness & purpose—it's becoming increasingly important that you find time to mentor a young man who's not related to you and not your direct employee.
Young men are looking for role models. They're not asking for it because of course they're not—they don't know how to. But we wonder why the Andrew Tates of the world gain notoriety & traction? I've always believed it's because young men don't know where else to turn.
That's where Millennials and Gen X men need to do better. There are so many ways you can offer your wisdom to the next generation:
- coach a youth sports team
- post on LinkedIn offering free career guidance
- volunteer in the arts
- if you're religious, participate in the church
- hell, start making content about your personal values so we can see examples of men who've built great lives
My challenge to every 30+ man in 2025: find a young man's life that you can positively influence. It will take some time and work, but it's important.
Researching @YouTube creators under 30 who make SHORTS in the NEWS category. Anyone come to mind?

1. I've found a large, AI-driven bot network on X which is posting in support of Trump in the US election.

Harrison Ford: When dozens of former members of the Trump administration are sounding alarms saying ‘For God's sake, don't do this again,’ you have to pay attention. They're telling us something important. I've got one vote, same as anyone else, and I'm going to use it to move forward. I'm going to vote for Kamala Harris
