A North Carolina man has been charged with "hate crimes" for detaining two Hispanic passengers of a hit-and-run But was the driver who caused the accident excessively speeding, or perhaps very distracted/intoxicated? I went and checked out the location, and it seems Juan Campos traveled 200+ feet between leaving the road and and colliding with Austin Herber's truck I'm no physicist, but it seems to me that if a vehicle traveling under the road's 45mph speed limit and making a reasonable attempt to stop after missing the curve would not have hit Herber's vehicle at the rate of speed captured on the surveillance video, causing the truck to spin around and leaving a passenger covered in blood from a facial injury The situation doesn't get less fishy the more I look into it: I'll put a link below to a fundraiser where people have chipped in a few dollars for Austin
