Do this before Black Friday:
Unsuppress Klaviyo profiles who may have a chance of buying.
Your Klaviyo account probably has thousands of suppressed profiles sitting there. Past buyers and window shoppers you cut off months ago to keep the list clean and the bill down.
But those are people you already paid to acquire. And if anyone is ever going to come back and buy, it’s during BFCM.
Here’s how to get them back and what to do with them:
1. Build The Unsuppress Segment
> Cannot receive email marketing because they were manually suppressed
> Has ever opened an email, OR browsed the site, OR placed an order in the past 730 days
> AND has never marked you as spam
> Look at the size of it, adjust if needed, then unsuppress
2. Go Wide On Launches And Closes
> Send every offer launch offer to the full list, with both email and SMS
> Same for every last chance email… those are your highest intent moments
> Rotate between the full list and a wide 365 or 730 day engaged segment for the days in between
Then after BFCM, suppress anybody who didn't reengage.
Easy.
Another day, another dollar.
New brand email/sms/retention revamp... seeing some measurable improvements already.

Conversion rate benchmarks your email flows should be hitting 👇
1. Welcome flow: 10%
These people just gave you their email and they’re sitting there with an unused discount.
How to fix: better offer framing, send 4-6 emails daily, use more urgency.
2. Checkout abandon: 6-8%
They had their card out, but folded. Low-hanging fruit to fix this up.
How to fix: send your first email 30 minutes after the action, wait 1 day between emails, remind non-buyers of their welcome discount.
3. Cart abandon: 4-6%
Lower intent than checkout but the same principles apply.
How to fix: same as checkout. But don’t be afraid to add an extra offer in here.
4. Browse abandon: 3-4%
Lowest intent of the abandonment flows so the bar is lower. At volume though, going from 2 → 3% conversions can be huge.
How to fix: give custom emails to non-buyers reminding of their welcome offer, layer in a “mystery discount”, and send 4 emails daily.
5. Post-purchase: 3-%+ placed order rate
This one everyone ignores. Most brands treat this as a thank you note and run it at 0.3%… It should be pushing a second order while they’re still excited about the first one.
How to fix: send an immediate upsell, suggest more products when their order delivers, don’t be afraid to send more.
Before you go compare these against your account…
Know that each of these run on a 5 day open and 5 day click window, which is the default in Klaviyo.
So go check your attribution, then pull all five and see which one is furthest off.
Also important to note: every brand is contextual and has a different audience and different numbers to shoot for but this in general is what is standard.

I join every team call with something like “what’s up fuckers” or “top of the morning big dawgs”
Seems stupid and I feel corny writing this…
But stuff like that really does contribute to company culture and overall vibes.
Company culture starts with YOU as the founder.
Humans mirror each other’s energy, especially people of authority.
If you show up stressed, your team is going to pick up that and become stressed.
If you show up high energy, your team will show up high energy.
This is why I try to create a fun, lighthearted environment every single day with little things like that.
This is mostly unintentional, as that is just who I am, but you really can see the effects.
Agency founders say they want a company people love to work at, but that rarely ends up being the case.
I've seen so many agencies where the team is stressed 24/7 and scared to miss a single slack message.
We hold a high bar at Well Copy… Responsiveness matters and quality matters immensely.
But I'd rather have a company where people genuinely love working there than a high stress environment.
Employee retention and work quality is much higher.
And when people enjoy where they work, they do better work.
To win as a subscription brand in 2027, you need to fix what happens in the first 7 days after someone subscribes.
I subscribed to GrĂĽns and documented their entire onboarding sequence to see what a $100M brand actually does differently.
Here are the 3 moves that make them one of the most successful subscription brands on the market.
1. They send every single day
- GrĂĽns is in your inbox every day for the first week
- They do NOT have a fear of unsubscribes. Instead they’re capturing attention while the lead is at its warmest
- Compare that to most brands that send one email and then nothing until the rebill reminder
- Day 1 through day 7 is the lowest risk real estate you have and they use all of it
2. They show long-term benefits
- Every email reinforces what the product does over the next 30, 60 and 90 days
- Expectations get set early so nobody bails in month 2 when results feel slow
- Instead of promising instant results they build buy-in for the long game
- This is what kills the “I don’t see results” cancellations before they happen
3. They remind you to take it every day
- Habit stacking is the whole game and they run it from day one
- Every email reminds you to take your GrĂĽns
- They tie it to a specific moments like morning coffee or before the gym
- Once the product becomes a habit, retention takes care of itself
The first week is the only time someone is actually excited about what they bought….
Every day you don’t use it, the less of that excitement is left.

A friend of mine made $40K from one email and one text message with a flow most people have never heard of…
He had a window shopping problem. People were clicking his emails and visiting his site multiple times a month, but not buying.
By the time the next email went out, the customer was already cold.
So he set up what we call the “Espresso Shot Flow.”
If someone has been active on your site multiple times (in the past 30 days), clicks an email link, and doesn't buy within 10 to 15 minutes, they get a quick offer.
That person might still be on your website so instead of waiting until they go cold, you hit them with a quick offer to push them over the edge.
It fires about 10 minutes after they click, like an espresso shot… but instead it’s a quick burst of cash.
That flow generated $40,000 for this 8-figure brand.
One email, one text message, and it sits in their top 5 best-performing flows.
So if people are clicking your emails but aren’t buying, you just need a faster response.
The window is 10 minutes, not 3 days.
True, I have a few:
> When I feel overwhelmed, I go on a run with zero music
When I’m stressed, I call my dad and go on a walk
> When I feel unmotivated, I walk and listen to Greg Lav / Alex Hormozi
> When I’m burnt out, I grab my nuts and keep working
> When I have a big decision, I call a mentor
> When I’m bored, I jump on random 1:1s with the team to be productive
> When I’ve had a long week, I go out with my friends and don’t talk about work at all
my life changed when i realized most of my days run on a few carefully chosen if-then statements:
• if i have negative thoughts, i go for a long walk
• if i feel uninspired, i read about someone great. it puts my problems back in proportion
• if i feel low energy, i go to the gym.
•if i feel disconnected, i message my wife (or a friend)
decide your if-thens on a good day, so a bad day doesn't have to

Gotta make sure you label your customers with desirable traits/outcomes.
This email “You want your dog to live forever. Feed them like it” does just that.
It labels them with a positive attribute (someone who cares about their dogs health) and then positions their product as ideal solution.
Before you write your next email, ask yourself: what does my customer need to believe about themselves?
Lead with that.
Easy email marketing hack:
Use a pre-loaded checkout page link that automatically takes the customer to checkout with a pre-determined item/offer.
Super simple to do.
Grab your variant ID from Shopify…
Build the URL…
Drop it into your email CTA…
And now just ONE click sends them straight to a checkout.
Works anywhere you already know what they want too... welcome flow, abandonment, win-back, replenishment, etc.
Try it out.
