the scariest thing you can be for halloween is brutally honest and emotionally vulnerable about what you want

I think most people (including me) get way too metaphysical about relationships and lost in questions like “can this person change?” or “why are they doing what they’re doing?” and generally would benefit from focusing more on behavior. like if the behavior is sufficiently concerning you have to just abandon the metaphysics
if it’s not negging, it’s hot & cold behavior. if it’s not omission, it’s a straight up lie. if it’s not a lack of empathy and compassion, it’s outright cruelty. no thank you
“At night, I lie awake and feel the weight of existence in a way that has nothing to do with material lack. I feel misunderstood. I wonder if I will ever be known in the way I know myself.” - Bianca Censori
And ultimately, relationships are about taking turns. Any relationship where only one person ever gets a turn, to be prioritised, to be helped, to be ill, to be vulnerable, to need, to be…whatever, will ultimately suffer. Because everyone needs and deserves a turn.
