Notable changes in this release include:
- enhanced speed and memory efficiency in the miniprot post-processing step
- incorporation of the plotting feature into the main codebase via "busco --plot results_dir/"
- full adaptation to the new odb12 datasets

We are pleased to announce the release of new BUSCO datasets!
Based on OrthoDBv12 (orthodb.org/), the new datasets represent a significant increase in coverage over all domains.
In some cases, subclades within a dataset may score differently in odb12, as a result of either more balanced representation decreasing any skew effects towards subclades, or due to greater representation of a previously under-represented subclade.
BUSCO v5.7.1 has been released, featuring improved performance for genomes with large numbers of contigs.

BUSCO v5.7.0 has been released.
The major change is the Miniprot pipeline has now been made the default for eukaryota.
busco.ezlab.org/busco_usergu…
As Miniprot is a gene mapper, not a gene predictor, caution should be exercised with the reported gene sequences, as many of these may contain internal stop codons and may not be suitable for downstream analysis. BUSCO will report anomalies detected in the final results.
#BUSCO Tip:
If BBTools is causing memory problems you can now skip that part of the pipeline with the '--skip_bbtools' option.
