🟥 We’ve known for MANY years that Pierre is UNFIT, and a terrible choice for any type of serious leadership role... 🤷🏻‍♂️ Listen, Canada, despite the $3 Million ‘make-over’ – it’s the same guy! 👀 🔳 RICK MERCER, BACK IN THE DAY: “Because I guarantee you – you get any member of the Conservative caucus alone in a room and you ask them ‘who is the last man on earth who should be put in charge of reforming Democracy?’ and they will tell you, ‘Pierre Poilievre’” #TheSameGuy

FYI, there’s an action tomorrow (Friday, January 10th) to oppose the return of the old SLO program. instagram.com/no2.splos.sd61… #yyj

Govender adds that calls to elementary schools are stable, and calls to high schools are down. The government is signalling it's SLOs or bust, but there's still time to write in before the government-appointed special advisor's report comes in next week. docs.google.com/document/d/1…

B.C.'s Human Rights Commissioner: "data from 2015 to 2024 made available by police whose jurisdictions include [SD61] schools … shows no clear correlation between an increase in gang activity in schools and the end of the [SLO] program." timescolonist.com/opinion/co…

Resharing email campaign to object to SLOs in schools and government interference with SD61.
The province appointed a pro-school liaison officer "advisor" to rewrite SD61's safety plan, interfering with the elected board and making it clear they want police in schools. I would encourage folks to email to object. Template here if it's helpful! docs.google.com/document/d/1… #yyj

Anyone in #yyj actually able to book a flu/COVID shot earlier than Nov. 28 via the get vaccinated link? Just got my text this morning, but nothing open in my area until Nov. 28. Seems like too long to wait. #bcpoli

A group of 9 board certified pediatricians discuss “immunity debt” in children. It’s a misleading term and we address ways to keep kids healthy during an evolving pandemic. (Two minute video) vm.tiktok.com/ZMYBDDxgt/ @rubin_allergy

Shame on you @OverstoryMedia for laying off some of the best staff @CapitalDailyVic today. The perspective they offered about local issues was very much appreciated, and I don't think it will be the same without these folks. Horrible decision on your part.

When #bced schools return after spring break, we need: - Free N95s for all staff and students who need or want them. - Robust campaigns to increase vaccine rates in children. - Ongoing improvements to ventilation. - Trauma-informed support for students and staff. #bcpoli

1 of 12 Welcome to the COVID chronicles, ‘good news’ edition: our polls show that you are fed up with the measures supposed to protect you. Thus, we are officially ending the pandemic. No more living in fear. After 2 years, the time has come. worldometers.info/coronaviru…

Still don't know how to respond when people try to portray it as "irrational" to state a strong preference to avoid getting sick with an extraordinarily contagious, sometimes deadly, sometimes disabling virus, whether or not it's likely to be "mild" in one individual case.

My piece on endemicity for @nature. I wrote about the use and misuse of this term, the assumptions it is often associated with, and how we can help shape the years to come. nature.com/articles/d41586-0…
