I received my 2nd dose of Pfizer's COVID vaccine yesterday. 17 hours and I haven't experienced any adverse reactions. Only mild soreness in my left SHOULDER. Some get fevers, but they quickly resolve 24hrs later so worth it. Never miss opportunity to get a vaccine.

While the spreading SARS-CoV-2 variants are concerning, the immune systems in vaccinated people are still primed for strong responses that prevent severe illness and death. Bottom line: Vaccines still work, never miss an opportunity to get a vaccine. theatlantic.com/science/arch…

Every year, Bill and I write a letter with our perspective on how to meet the world’s most pressing challenges. Our 2021 letter is about how the world can bring an end to COVID-19 and turn the hard-won lessons of this pandemic into a healthier, more equal future for all.

It was an early, cold Saturday morning, but the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine was definitely work it. It was as quick and easy as turning on a light switch, and still don't feel a thing 3 hours later. Second dose is in 3 weeks. To making the community safer 🍻

A brief reminder that if vaccines could alter your DNA we would have used them to cure a few dozen genetic diseases by now. 🤨 Thank-you.

Humbled by the opportunity to share my research journey, courtesy my latest "alma mater"- University of Cincinnati. Like many PhD students, my journey has many bends in the road, but I relished the learning and the lifelong friendships. So here it is. Thank you UC 😊❤️.

All individuals, whether previously diagnosed with COVID-19 or not, should take identical precautions to avoid infection (or reinfection) with SARS-CoV-2. The implications of reinfections could be relevant for vaccine development and application. thelancet.com/journals/lanin…

Excellent move by Moderna, recognizing that this pandemic is bigger than the whims of capitalism, and all of us.
While the pandemic continues, Moderna will not enforce our COVID-19 related patents against those making vaccines intended to combat the pandemic. Read our statement here: buff.ly/3ntU6qV

Mission: Get PhD....COMPLETE. It is finally over, all the emotional roller coasters, the struggle, the challenges could not have been overcome without the positive group of dedicated, committed scientists from my lab, friends, colleagues and family. It's been a rewarding journey.

Vaccines targeting the S protein will certainly not be the "be all, end all." A new approach targeting other epitopes that generate a stronger T cell response appears more promising for long-term immunity. drugtargetreview.com/news/66…
