Slurry Spreading Deadline The final day for slurry spreading in Meath is 30 September. Where slurry is spread prior to the closing date, a minimum setback distance of 10 metres must be maintained from waters, including rivers, streams, drains and ditches. Fertiliser-Spreading Deadlines Statutory closed periods for landspreading are now approaching. Meath closed periods: ✅ Chemical fertiliser: 15 September to 29 January ✅ Slurry: 1 October to 15 January ✅ Farmyard manure (FYM): 1 November to 15 January Landspreading during the prohibited periods is an offence under the EU (Good Agricultural Practice for Protection of Waters) Regulations.
