It's true. I had no idea how big #FlareOn was when I registered about 20-30min before it started.
And then I was 20min LATE, started with Anthopic models and got no where.
Switched to Astra and started snagging flags right away.
You can see where I switched on the graph and took an almost identical patch as the winner.
I probably would have been top 3 if I started on time and used Astra the whole time.

This year at Flare-On 13, I wanted to race other people's AIs. I mean, is it really all just prompting? Or do techniques and tools still matter? They do!
My system got 3rd 🥉. A part of its success was our decompiler, Kuna. It was used exclusively to solve 6/9 challenges.

There's a huge opportunity for invite-only social networks because current networks are flooded with noise or contain people who don't want to talk to each other.
Any network that isn't great (e.g. Goodreads, Yelp) can be rebuilt easily now. The 10x better product is the curation of people and information.
The internet can't just be split between broadcast networks for everyone and group chats for dozens of people. There has to be something in between.
Digg's old submission flow may be returning:
