What I saw.
A woman getting hit SO hard, in the head, by a man, that she wisely chose to stop it, because she KNEW if she didn’t, she’d be seriously injured or worse.
Blood, sweat, tears, training, dreams…shattered….
The ABSOLUTE STATE of this…@iocmedia
Angela Carini. 💔❤️

How each province and territory got its name:
British Columbia:
Originally, the southern portion of the province was named for the Columbia River. The central region was named New Caledonia.
To avoid confusion with Colombia, Queen Victoria named it British Columbia in 1858.
#yeg! What was this tonight?! Was it burning in space? @GlobalEdmonton
This...and most don't care or know until it affects them and/or someone they care about.

Today I witnessed a senior with a cane fall and another with a walker struggle immensely. Both were trying to cross a snow covered boulevard to get to a vehicle. I see this often in winter. It's almost like city planners assumed only able bodied people need to get to a vehicle.

Disabled people don’t have “special” needs.
Disabled people don’t need “special” education.
Disabled people don’t need “special” transportation.
By conflating “special” and “disabled,” ableism assigned a burden to disability.
Disabled people need access and accommodation.

As someone who is neurodivergent - & was only diagnosed with ADHD recently - I know the long term impact of late diagnoses on mental health.
Young people today deserve action to cut waiting times & improve screening so we can ensure early diagnosis of all neurodiverse conditions
