#UnitedStates: The case of Christa Pike lays bare multiple reasons why the death penalty should be abolished. The prolonged suffering – physical and mental – arising from multiple failed execution attempts is abhorrent, and cruel. And there are key fair trial questions still unresolved. UN Human Rights Chief @volker_turk calls on the state authorities not to pursue any further attempt to execute Pike. We are also troubled by the increase in the number of executions in the United States. The death penalty has no place in any society.

I talked to a coffee shop owner in Buffalo who was getting destroyed on Instagram after showing a photo of a fall menu poster she made with ChatGPT. One person with a big local following was DMing her and threatening to post about it she woudln't agree to hire an artist to redo it. But it turned out it was more complicated that her skipping out on hiring someone: she told me she's never hired anyone to make their chalkboard menu signs - either she did posters herself with photos and Canva or a staffer did in chalk. The AI menu was just her trying to reduce her own workload (she has a newborn and wanted to save time) businessinsider.com/coffee-s…

Original concept art alongside the final Beyond Light teaser art I work on in 2020. Beyond Light was an especially memorable project to be part of. It was our first @DestinyTheGame expansion developed during COVID, with the team working remotely, which brought a unique set of challenges. Even so, it remains one of my favorite expansions to have worked on, and this teaser art is still one of the pieces I'm most proud of. Tonally, we were inspired by some of @sungchoiart early Europa concept work, particularly a concept of a Guardian at a campsite looking out toward the Pyramid. We wanted to capture the feeling of embarking on a solitary journey to a new moon and discovering the Darkness subclass Stasis for the first time. I used this key art as an opportunity to focus heavily on the environmental rendering, making sure the frozen, icy landscape came through as a defining element. The final foreground was built using a combination of bespoke 3D modeling in Maya and advanced displacement maps in KeyShot, using textures from Quixel Megascans. The Pyramid ship and skybox in the background began as in-game screenshots that I captured from @Bungie skybox artist Mark Goldsworthy, which I then painted over and exaggerated in Photoshop. I assembled the final image and completed all post-processing and finishing work in Photoshop. At 38,000 x 15,000 pixels, 300 dpi, it was one of the largest files I've ever created, built with the expectation that it could ultimately be printed as a large-scale wall piece or art print. artstation.com/artwork/Aq6vb…

I created the Adobe Illustrator Field Notes inside Firefly Boards. Intended to act as a central hub to capture all those tips and tricks, info and resources for anyone working in Illustrator. You can search Google when you know exactly what you need to solve, but this might introduce you to something unexpected. Link to the Board in comment below (best viewed on desktop)

A Thread > This week, I challenged my team to share how they use Firefly Boards in their creative workflows. We called it AllOnBoards! A Board is a collaborative, infinite-canvas workspace in Adobe Firefly, built for creative ideation, mood boarding, storyboarding, and early-stage concept development. We all have stories to tell, and Boards is an incredibly powerful tool to do just that.

Advertising free public services is *so* smart. Too often Democrats refuse to do PR for how they're making peoples' lives better.
Young people are always told what not to do. But what should you do? Did you know that most public libraries have a Nintendo Switch to use? That parks show free movies at night? That there's a map of pickup basketball games? Nyc.gov/summer is a map of free and affordable things to do this summer that we made just for you. Because public programs mean nothing if you don't know how to access them.

California Dems like @GavinNewsom have repeatedly promised to make California the first state to implement a single-payer health care system - and then they've betrayed those promises & used their supermajority power to block single-payer legislation.

Way more Dems than Golden want to continue this war. But they know it's politically toxic to vote for this war. So Dem leadership gets Golden to be the one vote to make sure this fails. He's not running for re-election, so he has nothing to lose. That's how this works.
BREAKING: The House just failed to pass a resolution to end Trump's war with Iran by one vote. The count was 213-214. Just one Democrat, Jared Golden, voted to let Trump keep waging the war.

What if the Appearance Panel in Illustrator was a node-based workflow? I work with the Illustrator community to get input and feedback on all sorts of topics. This suggestion has come up a few times so I wanted to see if I could vibe-code a prototype to drive the discussion further. What are your thoughts on this workflow?

🎉 We just released Rotate Object in Photoshop (beta) 🎉 You can now rotate 2D images! 🤯 Then use Harmonize to add light and shadows, to blend it perfectly with the rest of the scene. It's like Turntable in Illustrator, but instead of vectors, it's pixels in Photoshop!
