I grew up with this guy's type. They were the kids who shoved the Christian kid into the lockers and then cried "you're attacking ME!" when the teacher showed up. Now they hold interviews outside, so there's plenty of room to dodge.

SpaceX has just released a new look at what their 1 million Starmind satellites constellation might look like (dots do not represent true size of sats).
SpaceX VP @michaelnicollsx said today: "We need to operate clusters of satellites in tight formation to get enough coherent compute to run AI models efficiently. A cluster will be 10-ish satellites connected with 10 terabits or so of bandwidth between them, and interconnected to the broader constellation."

SpaceX has introduced a new Space Safety website.
"SpaceX plans to operate up to 100,000 Starlink satellites and up to 1 million Starmind AI satellites to meet the growing demand for broadband and supercompute. We will do this safely and at scale using the industry-leading space safety standards we have developed to date.
Responsible operations requires being constantly cognizant of upcoming conjunctions for an operator’s satellites, and taking any necessary steps to mitigate collision risk. For Starlink, this process begins prior to launch, with proactive launch screening constraining launch T0’s to ensure that newly launched satellites don’t get deployed immediately into a high-risk conjunction.
In 2026, Starlink encountered conjunctions with about 650 unique maneuvering third-party satellites, with only about half of them actually sharing ephemeris. Some operators don’t share ephemeris out of a concern that sharing upcoming maneuvers gives away proprietary information. In other circumstances, operators are willing to share data, but are unable to receive permission from the government to do so. Such policies are counterproductive, and largely only serve to create preventable collision risk between satellites.
Over six months, Starlink observed ~164,000 conjunctions where time of closest approach (TCA) was within four hours after an unannounced maneuver. While not all of these conjunctions were high-risk, they represent cases where Starlink would not have sufficient information to reliably avoid the other vehicle if the other operator’s action created a high-risk conjunction. In many cases, the lack of high-accuracy post-maneuver trajectory information can cause such conjunctions to go unnoticed, giving operators a false sense of confidence and not realizing how much risk their actions are creating."

I'm back, reporting for duty and privilege! I may not have been able to post in support of the milestones you and your teams have reached, but I haven't missed a single one. All of them have refreshed my heart. With the most recent Starship flight: it could have safely gone even further, we saw it all here earlier on—it had truly obtained the Mandate of Heaven. But stopping where you decided to was a wise and professional decision too.
