Following an interesting chain of events, I’ve spent the past few weeks writing audio porn scripts for an erotic content app. You can read them in the @ObsMagazine … it’s on the cover.
On the cover of this weekend’s O, The Observer Magazine: Very Horny Voices.
What does the rise of audio erotica tell us about modern desire?

A (horny) word in your ear: the growing desire for audio erotica
The erotic audio industry is booming as listeners seek an ethical and more immersive alternative to porn. So what does it take to write and voice modern sexual appetites?

Totally overwhelmed by the response to this. I was expecting about 10 applications, and we got more than 60 (!).
It was a nightmare whittling it down, but delighted that Flo Ingleby (not on X) will be joining the Dispatchverse.
We're hiring an editorial assistant.
Deadline for applications is 9/10/26. More info here:

@kf_morris went in search of the West Staines Massiv:
Very proud to stand alongside @kf_morris in the rich pantheon of Cohen chroniclers at @dispatch__media . Writers step forward so we can do Bruno next

I want everyone to know that I too was quietly bereaved when I didn't get this present from @milesellingham, mainly because I was instead presented with a horrifying collar / necklace from Cyberdog lol.
Went out to report on the by-election, ended up writing about Camden more broadly.
Polanski is not a local and locals can tell. Faduma, 31, is the sort of voter the Greens would traditionally be looking to attract — a young, liberal-minded Muslim woman, moved by the suffering of Gaza, sympathetic to Corbyn and deeply enmeshed with the local community via her work at a youth centre on Crowndale Road.
‘He’s not from the borough,’ Faduma says of the Green Party leader, ‘I think he’s a great politician, and his promises sound fantastic. But how much is he going to deliver for us if he does win? [He doesn’t] know the community’s needs.’ Faduma loves it here. ‘The second I leave Camden,’ she says, ‘I can feel it.’
Likewise, Faduma implicitly knows that Abdi-Wali is a Camden girl. ‘She understands what’s going on. She knows what’s happening with her constituency.’

You can sit in a pub and discuss how best to prep and serve roadkill or whether a famous Italian actress is secretly living as a nun in Arizona. Then you can watch as (some of) those ideas actually become published stories. You can even write them!

Macabre banger from @LotteBrundle
They’re barely out of school — and spend their days tending to the dead.
Britain has almost a million young people classified as NEETs.
@LotteBrundle met some who chose an unusual way out: becoming apprentice undertakers.

'Andri Snær Magnason looked down at the naked land, remembering how, the last time he walked it, the ground was clothed in ice. I imagine this feeling is like realising your dad is going bald, followed by a gradual terror.'

A few ideas on how to deal with the end of the world which @AndriMagnason and I brainstormed whilst climbing a volcano having left the water back in the car.
How do we talk about the beginning of the end of the world? In an unmissable piece in today’s @ObserverUK @MilesEllingham travels to Iceland to meet a man @AndriMagnason who thinks he might know. Epitaph for a glacier
