🇸🇬 Itz the time to Ritz!!
The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore is a landmark hotel.
Had visited it a few times during my residency in Singapore. Finally got an opportunity to stay here beginning of this year.

Most folks with an Epicure Stay Voucher settle for the Base category room because the voucher says so. But it is possible to upgrade many categories higher by simply paying the difference. In my case I could book 6 categories higher ⏫️
📧 Just send that email and check if it’s possible before you settle for Base. A paid upgrade isn’t guaranteed, however, but you’ll never know for sure till you try!
🚨 One thing to keep in mind… there was a considerable bit of back and forth via email/call with the hotel and Epicure, but persistence paid off!
Paid upgrade to Valley View Suite
➕
Complimentary 1-level upgrade to highest category suite (Duplex Suite) due to IHCL Gold status 🚀
📧 All done over email
✌️ Used 2 Epicure Stay vouchers for 2 nights
⚙️ The process…
• I sent the hotel an email requesting to use Epicure vouchers + Pay for an upgrade to the Suite Valley View (with Balcony)
• They got back with the upgrade value
• Base room ⏩️ Suite Valley View = 30k/night (Rs 70,800 total for 2N)
💰 Suite Valley View with Balcony actual price for my dates was about Rs 55k/N plus at that time
• I accepted
• They sent me a link for 50% advance payment
• Said cannot accept Taj GV for advance
• I negotiated advance to 25%, paid via Axis Atlas
• Made rest all payments at the property using Taj GC
👍 Booking confirmed
⏫️ Complimentary upgrade to Duplex Suite (highest category) due to Gold Status.
• Gold status due to paid Epicure Privileged
• Approximate value of upgrade to Duplex Suite = Rs 19k/N

Works for Taj Bekal too 👍

Followed same method for Taj Bekal and upgraded to the pool villa. Expect they didn’t ask for advance 🤪

The Epicure stay voucher allows booking a Base Category room (incl) breakfast for 2 persons.
I recently used it to book the Valley View Suite (one category below top suite) for 2 Adults + 2 Kids at Taj Theog. Breakfast for all.
Eventually upgraded to the Duplex Suite (highest category).

🏨 Miles2Go 30-Day Challenge | Day 7/30
Where can 1 LAKH Amex points take you in hotels?
5 nights at a Luxury Collection resort in Agra? A hillside escape near Bengaluru? Or even Bali?
You might be surprised by how many nights 1 lakh Amex points can unlock when you look at the cost of an entire stay rather than just one night.
Let’s put those points to work. 👇
🧮 First, understand the conversion:
1,00,000 Amex MR points can become:
• 1,00,000 Marriott Bonvoy points
• 1,50,000 Hilton Honors points
And here’s where it gets interesting:
Marriott gives you the 5th night free on eligible 5-night award stays. No elite status required.
Hilton also offers the 5th night free on standard room reward stays, but you need Silver status or above.
Now look at what that can get you.
1️⃣ Mulberry Shades, Nandi Hills 🇮🇳
5 nights for 92,000 Amex MR points!
• 92,000 Marriott Bonvoy points
• Nights starting around 21,000 points
A Tribute Portfolio resort tucked away in the hills near Bengaluru.
2️⃣ JW Marriott Golfshire, Bengaluru 🇮🇳
3 nights for 90,000 Amex MR points.
• 90,000 Marriott Bonvoy points
• Five nights would cost around 1.2 lakh points.
3️⃣ The Westin Goa 🇮🇳
3 nights for 85,000 Amex MR points.
• 85,000 Marriott Bonvoy points
• Cheapest window: 30 May to 2 June 2027
The catch? These are monsoon dates, so make sure the timing works for you.
4️⃣ Le Méridien, Kochi 🇮🇳
5 nights for just 45,500 Amex MR points!
• 45,500 Marriott Bonvoy points
The lowest-points five-night stay on this list. That’s less than half your 1 lakh budget!
5️⃣ ITC Mughal, Agra 🇮🇳
5 nights for just 80,000 Amex MR points!
• 80,000 Marriott Bonvoy points
• Around 20,000 points per night
A Luxury Collection resort, with five nights costing well below 1 lakh points.
6️⃣ Sheraton Kosgoda, Sri Lanka 🇱🇰
5 nights for 88,000 Amex MR points.
• 88,000 Marriott Bonvoy points
A beachfront resort on Sri Lanka’s south coast, known for its turtle conservation setting.
7️⃣ Weligama Bay Marriott, Sri Lanka 🇱🇰
3 nights for 98,000 Amex MR points.
• 98,000 Marriott Bonvoy points
A beautiful coastal escape, although this one uses almost the entire points budget for three nights.
8️⃣ Le Méridien, Kuala Lumpur 🇲🇾
5 nights for 88,000 Amex MR points.
• 88,000 Marriott Bonvoy points
Five nights in Kuala Lumpur, with points left over.
9️⃣ Hilton Kuala Lumpur 🇲🇾
5 nights for approximately 53,500 Amex MR points!
• 80,000 Hilton Honors points
• 5th night free included, assuming eligible standard room reward availability and Silver status or above.
One of the most interesting redemptions on this list. Five nights in KL while retaining a substantial chunk of your Amex points.
🔟 Hilton Bali Resort 🇮🇩
3 nights for approximately 76,000 Amex MR points.
• 1,14,000 Hilton Honors points
A Bali getaway without using your entire 1 lakh points balance.
🏨 A few more worth checking:
• Hilton Luxor, Egypt 🇪🇬: 3 nights for 1,20,000 Hilton points (around 80,000 MR).
• Conrad Bali 🇮🇩: 3 nights for 1,41,000 Hilton points (around 94,000 MR).
• Conrad Pune 🇮🇳: 3 nights for 1,20,000 Hilton points.
• Hilton Goa 🇮🇳: 3 nights for 1,25,000 Hilton points.
• Hilton Garden Inn Bali Airport 🇮🇩: 5 nights for just 56,000 Hilton points (around 37,500 MR).
💡 The bigger takeaway
1 lakh Amex points can potentially get you:
• 5 nights at a Luxury Collection resort in Agra.
• 5 nights in Kochi for less than half the points budget.
• 3 nights at JW Marriott Golfshire.
• 5 nights in Kuala Lumpur.
• Even a three-night stay in Bali or Luxor.
⚠️ Before you transfer:
• Marriott and Hilton rates fluctuate depending on dates and availability.
• Check the full stay on the hotel website before transferring points.
🎯 Now let’s see your finds!
Drop the hotel name, number of nights and points required in the comments.

🎖️ Oberoi Hotels has a little-known loyalty programme called Oberoi One.
I’ve connected with them over email for more information about this and they didn’t share much. At the hotel the staff didn’t share much either!
No idea if they themselves know little about it or they don’t wish to share more 🤷♂️
If you know more about Oberoi One, do share 👍

⭐️ Some hotels have an internal points or a star system to reward the employees whose names have been mentioned in the reviews.
That’s probably one of my bigger reasons to do these reviews. A way to say thanks to those who made the holiday a bit more memorable.
🙋♂️ There are times when some staff member might request me to mention them in the review because it’ll be good for them…
• I surely do it if they’ve made my stay better
• But never just because they asked
💰 Some juicy All Accor offers floating around.
If you have previously made reservations during these offer dates, it may be a good idea to revisit them and see what the latest prices/deals are using the ongoing offers.
🔀 Cancel & Rebook if you think it’s worth it.
Folks have earned big, and also saved thousands of points, miles and much money using the cancel & rebook method.

I always book the new rate first and only then cancel the old one. I have lost a room once by doing it the other way round. Not worth the saving.
Boarding anxiety… what dat???
🏃♂️ Priority Boarding courtesy Airline status
• Little or no queuing
• Ample space for cabin baggage since you enter while the cabin is empty
• Especially helpful if travelling with kids or seniors
🥉 Need not hold the top-tier status for this. Benefits could begin even at Base +1

Today is the last day for the 20% earlybird discount for the miles and points workshop.
Here is a glimpse of some of the things we plan to cover in the workshop, apart from all the fun! 👇🏼
The problem isn’t a lack of information. It’s the gap between knowing what is possible and knowing how to make it happen for yourself.
That’s why we created a personalised, hands-on workshop for a small group of select participants.
It starts with a detailed pre-workshop questionnaire. We then adapt the workshop around you, and leave you with a practical understanding of how to put your points to work and upgrade your next vacay.
Me, @man1sh_golcha, @prashantnhn along with the Geek-in-Chief @ameyakarve promise you a fun filled ride through the world of points & miles.
Find out more at theccgeeks.in.
✍🏻 Never skip the reviews!!
Takes 10-15 minutes tops!
• Mention the names of the staff who made the stay memorable (I jot them down in Notes at the hotel itself)
• Share what you loved
• Share what could be better
Be honest, because that will make them better 👍
🎖️ The better way to get Accor Platinum status has always been through the All Signature Absolute membership.
❌ Not by stacking Accor Plus/China etc
• The RP cover the membership & more
• The Status Points take you towards Platinum
• The Rs 85k odd spends required for the extra 2,000 Status Points are easy if you’re a regular at Accor properties
• And if you’re not a regular at Accor properties why would you want Platinum status in the first place?
