I agree Mina needs a community-controlled treasury. But how much has it cost to build and audit, and what will it cost to run? Could an on-chain vote and a council managing a fixed budget have got money to builders sooner and for less? Even if we needed to build proper multisig tooling, other projects could have used that too. Under this design, delegating your stake also delegates your treasury vote to your block producer. Choosing someone to produce blocks is not the same as choosing them to assess grant applications. Why bundle those responsibilities together rather than appoint people specifically to review proposals and manage a budget? Additionally, the voting thresholds don’t guarantee meaningful support for the application. Abstentions count towards quorum but are excluded from the approval percentage. Also, many block producers or single addresses can meet the thresholds on their own. The current design uses roughly month-long rounds, yet passing a vote doesn’t reserve your funding. If other approved payouts empty the treasury first, you can still be left unpaid (and lose your bond). We have reduced trust in tallying the votes. We still rely on people to assess proposals, exercise emergency powers and keep the system running. What have we gained over a simpler council with a fixed budget that justifies the cost, the wait and the uncertainty for builders?
This shows why the decentralized treasury needs implementing as some as possible. Without proper funding Mina won't attract the right talent. 👇🏼👇🏼

It would be good to get some feedback from Gareth's post. He has been a respected member of the Mina community from the start and have very strong technical skills. 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼

$MINA Mainnet 4.0.4 is officially released! ✅ Long-standing bootstrap issues fixed ⚡ Faster node synchronization & more efficient block production 🛡️ Independent protocol-state validation 🌐 Improved network stability and reliability No hard fork required. Mina is quietly strengthening its foundations. Real engineering progress, now delivered to mainnet. Keep building, $MINA!
🚧 Weekly Mina Dev Update We designed Mina to be a fast network to join and verify: ZK proofs let us check history efficiently, not recreate it or trust a third party. But you all should have complained more! This week our engineering team realised it could be a lot faster. Our next release will make connecting to Mina the fastest ever. Nodes can expect reduced downtime when they restart or upgrade, but will also spend less time helping other nodes get connected to the network. Nodes can also no longer get 'stuck': the latest fixes ensure that nodes keep making progress even when the network is at its fullest capacity. The team isn't quite out of ideas yet, so we may see even more improvements in the following release too. We'll keep you posted! 🚧 For o1js devs: our recent memory reductions, stability improvements, and performance enhancements over the last few releases have let our engineering team easily run multiple test networks on their standard development machines. If you have tests that you would like to upgrade from LocalBlockchain to real Mina test networks, it should now be possible to do so and run them locally / in your CI environment. For support or to connect with others making the migration, please jump into the #zkapps-developers channel in our Mina Protocol discord server.

Since the $Mina Mesa hard fork, Mina mainnet has processed 3,943 zkApp transactions. 3,898 of them (98.9%) were batched staking pool payouts. Just 40 tx carried a proof. 38 were Auro wallet test-token transactions. The other two came from a zkroll app, which opened one game round and cancelled it. More than 200 projects received Mina funding through zkIgnite, Navigators, and Foundation grants. Every funded zkApp I traced had stopped transacting on mainnet. Most of the code is still open source. Anything worth reviving?

Revived the Mina Rust node. Syncs devnet from scratch in under a minute, runs in a few hundred MB of RAM, and works on a Raspberry Pi 3.

As co-CEO of @o1_labs we’d genuinely love to hear more from you about Mina’s direction. What’s happening with ecosystem projects, developer adoption, and the challenges builders are facing? Your perspective and leadership matter to the community. Can we expect more open dialogue and regular updates?
Excited to be speaking at ETHConf NYC next week. Over the past several years I've had the privilege of helping bring zero-knowledge technology from research into production at @o1_Labs. Looking forward to sharing some of those experiences and discussing where this technology can create real value. If you're attending, come find me and say hello. 👋

Aragon will steward the Mina Decentralized Treasury process, supporting the MINA community as they propose, evaluate, and vote on ecosystem funding. The deployment framework is now published, outlining the phased rollout, safeguards, and path toward full community autonomy.

Hi Mollie! Great to see the decentralized treasury moving forward! You mentioned back in October 2025 that you and @bitbanter were pushing every day to secure Swiss regulatory approval for MINA buybacks. With today’s progress, is there any update on that approval? Are MINA buybacks still part of the Foundation’s plans? Would really appreciate some clarity. Thanks!

I hear you and @bitbanter and I are pushing everyday to get this to the community ASAP!

Bringing back the Mina Rust and web node as a community-maintained, independent client to help realize Mina's potential. A blockchain light enough that anyone can run it from a browser. Already upgraded to Mesa: syncs and validates mainnet and devnet, and a web node in a browser tab produced a canonical devnet block. Rust SNARK work is landing in devnet blocks too 👇 See Discord for more. More context on the Rust and web node here o1labs.org/blog/mina-rust-no…

what i like in a treasury like this is that the pot is visible on-chain so you check it yourself instead of trusting a few people to tell you

The old way: a few people hold the key, everyone else just trusts them. The new way: the pot is visible on-chain, and only a community vote opens it. Propose → Vote → Funded. That’s it.

It’s already real: audited twice (Trail of Bits + @zksecurityXYZ ), running on a #Mesa testnet, @AragonProject on operations — and a “break-glass” safety lever designed to be removed. Update expected soon — watch this space 👀 $MINA #MinaProtocol
