Looks like they kind of pulled a fast one but not in a bad way. Now open. It has a ton of items and also serves dim sum. Huge space with banquet. Private rooms that are common in China and the pictures look like many nicer private rooms in China marinabaychicago.com/menu
New elevated seafood restaurant, Marina Bay, is coming to East Pilsen to the whole Jefferson Square/88 Market complex. Asian leaning The address is 2060 S Lumber St but I'm sure it'll be in huge complex w/entrance on Jefferson St marinabaychicago.com instagram.com/marinabaychica…

FYI the multi family/sfh/coach house part is brand new building construction.

By the way, if you're using HUD's SOCDS to gather data about units permitted do yourself a favor and don't. The data is way off, at least for Chicago. No clue why. Use this instead: data.cityofchicago.org/Build…

The former Packing House building at 1113 W Randolph St in West Loop was sold in April for just under $7.3M. Today there were 2 permits submitted to renovate the 1st floor restaurant space. This space has sat vacant since 2014 when Packing House closed after just 6 months..

Okay I connected the dots - the tenant on the permit is the owner of Crab King Cajun Boil & Bar. He also owns Everest Asian Fusion in Downers Grove. So my guess is something like Crab King in Oak Lawn is going in here. crabkingoaklawn.com
