Saw an video from the attorney that is currently helping ZUIAN with his P-1A expedited visa
- According to the US State Department, B-1 visa can be used for professional athletes to compete in US. So it is reasonable to apply for B-1 visa in the first try.
- P1-A visa requires contracts provided by US major leagues or organization and meet at least 2 out of 7 requirements to prove the applicant is "internationally recognized"
- TES was confirmed qualified on Sep 17 so back then it will not be sufficient to apply for P1-A visa
- The law firm was managed to collect materials from TES, investigate evidence, arrange translators, draft petitions, contact media and experts, contact labor organizations within 2-3 days
- The big issue in applying P1-A visa is to prove to immigration office that TES is an "internationally recognized athletic team". They reached out to TONS of people and eventually many in the industry, including Captain Flowers, helped to provide "expert opinions"
- TJ Esports and Riot Games also collaborated
- LCSPA helped with statements from a US labor organization
- Ended up with over 100 materials/evidence/petitions and printed to over 800 pages
- There is request for premium processing for P-1A visa and immigration office need to respond within 15 days to approve or refuse or ask for more evidence. After extra materials are submitted, the cycle of 15 days repeat.
- Even after approval from immigration, ZUIAN still have to interview at the embassy. But the approved petition is a "prima facie evidence" that requirements for visa has been met so he will be in a more favorable situation than before.
