Need a book about rebuilding life after loss, forbidden lust, and learning how to love yourself again? I'm pretty proud that it shows single parents, neurodivergent kids, and why it's just as important in a romance to fall back in love with yourself. shorturl.at/RwtBZ

Well, the first time I thought it was a fluke but now I know it’s real. My cat now climbs into the snack cabinet and knocks out her treats and waits for the dog to paw them open and then they both eat them. I’m no longer needed here.

Sorry I can’t do my work today. I’ve lost my favorite pen and nothing feels right.

Why do cats climb into cabinets like they’re about to find Narnia?

As a freelancer, it’s funny working in an office sometimes. Like I forgot about “good morning” people. The people who have to greet everyone like it’s their job. My job? Look deeply into my coffee while hoping the “good morning” people spontaneously combust.

As you get older you realize some dreams won’t ever be realized. Like I wanted to secretly learn a language and then break into a conversation about me and say in that language, “I understand Mandarin too,” and then walk away like a badass. But instead, I still get English wrong

“This is why AI can't replace humans. This is soooo much better than anything claude or gemini ever suggested.” And today, this freelance writer is smiling thanks to that client comment. My creativity: 1 AI: 0

I love going to the library when it first opens. There’s a quiet gentleness to the air. It’s a sacred space like a church of books. You can still feel the happiness of the people the day before.

Went to see the salmon Struggling to return home to die. I wonder what home will look like to me When it’s my time to return. Will it be a memory, a face, a place In the river of my mind. I think the salmon are brave. Or maybe I’m used to seeing struggling As something beautiful

Got my dog a dog bed because her joints have been hurting her lately. But I think it was labeled wrong.

There I was. Grocery bags all in my arms with only my door standing in my way. I could put the bags down but that’s for the weak. I knew if I could just kick the door handle the right way I could be victorious. Was I? My cat greeted my triumphant arrival with a lack of admiration

But pretty sure I saw her snickering as I kicked open the door and two paper bags broke open. You don’t understand I said to my cat. Because no one understands why grocery bags make humans so irrational about strength.

🍁Drank cider. 🍁Made pumkin bread. 🍁Went on a walk and pointed out all the red leaves. 🍁Made caramel apples. 🍁Learned my cat likes caramel. 🍁Rejoiced at pumpkins. I really autumned the crap out of my day. Might need to take it easy tomorrow or ohhh roast pumpkin seeds.

How many hot beverages are too many in one day? And does that number increase exponentially if you’re a writer and it’s raining in Seattle?

Last night, it was just me and another woman left at work. As we were talking, she said, SOMEONE is in the office. We both got quiet. And what was my instinct as a writer? To hold my pen like a weapon and do a sweep through the office like I was going to stab them with my ...

ballpoint. It was super creepy walking through the office looking for the assailant. Luckily, no one was there. Because let's be honest, I'm not sure a pen makes a good weapon for anything but slaying deadlines.
