A reminder to everyone (especially transplants) that Cubans have always lived or moved to and from, Florida
Cubans are part of Florida's colonial history. Our connection to this peninsula stretches back more than 400 years, long before Florida became American, and long before Castro
We've been crossing those 90 miles for centuries. Cuban migration to Florida didn't begin with the Cuban Revolution. The Revolution was one chapter in a relationship already centuries old, and of many more to come.
We are one of the oldest (if not the oldest) continuously documented foreign-born populations in Florida
Back the fuck up, and put some respect on our home. YOU moved here

She’s retarded and has never opened a history book — Cubans were here before anyone else
Florida before turning into a US state belonged to Spain, and so did Cuba. Florida had its own governor in St Augustine who reported to the governor ABOVE him, in Havana
Cubans had been traveling from Florida back to the Island for YEARS before anyone else — the relationship between this state and the island predates every civilization outside of the natives
Later, Florida became a US state but the relationship between the island and Cuba remained
So not only did Cubans build something extraordinary, but we also established a lot of this land
So by your own logic @Why_moo get THE FUCK out of our state

Obama is campaigning against both.
Two Black men are on course to become the very first Black governors of their states: Byron Donalds in Florida and John James in Michigan.
This is a big moment for American political history, but the mainstream legacy apparatus has gone completely quiet because their very existence breaks the ideological matrix.
We are talking about self-made, highly articulate men who built their careers on structural execution, fiscal discipline, and free-market meritocracy.
They don't treat minority communities as a captive voting bloc requiring emotional management; they talk about raw economic mobility, capital accumulation, and functional governance.
The media cannot afford to platform a Black conservative running for executive state leadership because it proves that competence isn't tied to a singular political plantation.
The moment the populace realizes you can achieve top-tier institutional success while rejecting the emotional scripts of the left, the entire industry of political patronage collapses.
The corporate press doesn't care about breaking glass ceilings; they only care about ceilings that align with their preferred blueprint.
We were here and established way before y’all got here in the 80s. Miami is built on black culture and businesses. Y’all just came in and gentrified it and took it over and got the entire world thinking Cubans built it. We know the real. Y’all vote republican as if you’re an ally to white folks when that party literally doesn’t even like y’all. Everything Democrats did to help your people and y’all switch up because you’re making a little money now.
cubans came here without speaking the language or having connections and still built an incredibly influential community. we’re barely 0.3% of the US population, yet our impact is undeniable. cuba doesn’t look like miami because its disgusting, dictatorial communist regime crushes innovation and development. maybe if people stopped crying victim and started taking advantage of the opportunities america offers, they’d get a lot further.

its easy to brag about business & wealth you built when you came somewhere with the resources and opportunities to do it. and if thats the case why cuba don’t look like Miami? :)
girl, south florida wouldn’t be what it is today without cubans. we helped build this community, its businesses, and its culture. you’re welcome, tho
