The in between generation meaning they're between old practices and the new world they're living in. So there's so many arguments on what's correct and what's not in a world where we live in nuclear families for the most part.

Like? Oppressive systems are so absolute. OP can't even fantasize a hypothetical where there's enough money to pay an adult a living wage, ensure a vulnerable child (related to them) is cared for AND have pretty things. To them that Gucci apparel trumps a child's whole life.

The more I think about it the more sinister it is. These look like fresh babies so mama is likely recovering from the birth, llikely sleep deprived & surviving a tornado of internal crisis. Not only would I leave I'd look into how I can legally keep them away from me & my kids.

Language pet peeves: I hate the use of "our women" or "our men" in reference to ethnicity/race/nationality. It feels less like belonging & way more like ownerships. The connotation feels not like community & but forced allegiance. 4/4
