I'm working on Panzer Dragoon Zwei as my second Sega Saturn recompilation project!
Building on the improvements I made in Panzer Dragoon Saga (AZEL):
High-resolution rendering
Accurate floating-point coordinate transformations
Perspective-correct texture mapping using preserved Z-values

We are developing a tool that recompiles AZEL: Panzer Dragoon RPG (released in the West as Panzer Dragoon Saga) for PC, built on the emulation technology of Yaba Sanshiro.

AZEL: Panzer Dragoon RPG – Audio Enhancement Progress
The sound driver is recompiled into C and runs without 68000 emulation.
SCSP audio processing now uses floating-point precision, with 48 kHz output for improved sound quality.
The DSP program is also translated into C. Reverb is calculated using floating-point precision, with a larger delay buffer for smoother, more natural reverb than the original hardware.

Whenever I hear the term "lost technology," this is the game that comes to mind.
Azel: Panzer Dragoon RPG is an undisputed masterpiece.
Unfortunately, with the original development materials and source code lost, a remake has long been considered virtually impossible.
However, there's a technique called static recompilation that can bring classic games back to life without relying on emulation.
Unlike emulation, static recompilation translates the original machine code into C code, making it more lightweight, easier to port across different platforms, and much easier to enhance with modern features.
With this approach, Azel can be brought back with modern enhancements, including:
High-resolution rendering
Ultrawide display support
More accurate coordinate transformations using floating-point precision
Proper perspective correction by preserving Z-depth values
A lost masterpiece, brought back to life through modern technology.
