โข Ecofleet Solutions Ltd plans to acquire 300 electric buses under a partnership involving Chinese automotive company Chery Holding Rwanda Ltd, with 200 to be assembled locally and 100 manufactured in China.
โข Ecofleet CEO Aubin Rukera said the first 100 buses are expected by March 2027, while the remaining 200 are scheduled for delivery by December 2027.
โข The partnership follows a strategic investment agreement signed on Friday, October 30, by the Rwanda Development Board (RDB), Ecofleet Solutions and Chery Holding Rwanda.
โข Rukera said the project aims to accelerate electric mobility, support local vehicle assembly, reduce transport emissions and strengthen Rwandaโs industrial capacity.

โข #Rwanda has signed an agreement with Russiaโs state-owned nuclear corporation, Rosatom, to develop a Small Modular Reactor (SMR) and a Centre for Nuclear Science and Technology.
โข Rwandaโs Ambassador to Russia, Maj. Gen. Joseph Nzabamwita, announced the agreement on Saturday, October 31, following its signing during the third Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow.
โข The partnership between the Rwanda Atomic Energy Board (RAEB) and Rosatom will also support the training of nuclear scientists and technical personnel, with the projects expected to create jobs.
โข Beyond electricity generation, the planned nuclear facilities will support applications in healthcare, including cancer treatment, as well as agriculture, mining, geological surveys and mineral processing.

Gratien Kubwimana has been appointed Deputy Auditor General by Cabinet during a meeting chaired by President Paul Kagame on Monday.
Kubwimana has served as Director General of Local Government, Projects, Programs and Special Audits at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning since 2024. He previously held finance and internal audit roles at the Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority, MINECOFIN and the Kigali Institute of Science and Technology.
He holds a masterโs degree in Finance, a bachelorโs degree in Business Administration and is a member of ACCA and ICPAR.

Claudette Mukashyaka has been appointed Auditor General of State Finances, replacing Alexis Kamuhire, following a Cabinet meeting on Monday, October 26.
She brings over 15 years of internal auditing experience and four years in external auditing, having previously served as Chief Audit Executive at I&M Bank Rwanda.
Mukashyaka holds ACCA and CPA (Rwanda) qualifications and is an Internal Audit Quality Assessor.
Cabinet also appointed Gratien Kubwimana as Deputy Auditor General, while the National Commission for Human Rights appointed three new commissioners: Athanasie Nyiragwaneza, Viateur Bangayandusha and Aissa Umutoni.

South Africa shares in the pride with which Rwanda is preparing to fly the chequered flag for our continent with the hosting of a globally prestigious event at the planned Bugesera circuit from the early 2030s.
This contract is a recognition of the capabilities of the Rwandan nation and of our continent more broadly.
As host of the first Grand Prix on African soil in 1993, and organiser of other major global events, South Africa will be happy to provide any support we may be invited to share.
