The biggest hyperscalers and frontier labs added $300B in revenue in just 12 months. Yet stocks get beaten down due to continued investment in AI infrastructure.
The most impressive fact for me, however, is that Anthropic, a 5-year-old venture built by OpenAI refugees, added more annualised revenue in the last 12 months than most mature, yet fast-growing, hyperscalers.
AWS is a 20-year-old business on a $200B run rate next quarter. Yet frontier lab champion Anthropic added more revenue in the last 12 months than the cloud giant.
Creating this revenue stream has cost Anthropic only $10B in investments, as $132B of its raised capital still sits in its war chest.
Only Google's cloud segment, which is doubling its revenue and approaching the big two, Azure and AWS, added more revenue.

It's the wisest lessons I've learned about living well and philosophy in just 100 pages. It's my 10th and best book by far. #howtolive

Anthropic's S-1 shows an 85% gross margin in H1 from running its models, a reality check for skeptics who said pay-as-you-go model sales wouldn't be profitable (@steph_palazzolo / The Information)

Console hackers must be having the time of their lives right now. I wrote my first lines of code in the early 2000s to build tools for hacking PlayStation games. Sooo tempted to go back to where it all started...

🦆 Announcing DuckDB 2.0.0 LTS “Cinnamon Teal”
We are proud to release DuckDB 2.0.0, named after the cinnamon teal (Spatula cyanoptera), a striking reddish-brown duck found in the western Americas. 🌎
DuckDB 2.0.0 is the biggest DuckDB feature release so far. It ships a polished version of the Quack protocol, which turns DuckDB into a full-fledged server. It improves performance and lowers costs through supporting asynchronous I/O, a first-class VARIANT type, and a dedicated “agent mode”. It also empowers extension developers with a new SQL parser that allows adding new statements, clauses, and keywords, a new API to build on, and a new mechanism to distribute extensions more easily.
In our announcement blog post, we summarize the highlights and then walk through the key changes and give guidance on how to migrate to 2.0. For the complete release notes, see the release page on GitHub.

@IanLandsman and @aarondfrancis talk about Laravel New'ing....again....and what that means for Outro, plus huge updates coming to Solo, Aaron's generative universe, and more.
Orbs are really addictive.
I'm just starting to realize what's possible.
This is just one tiny experiment from today. There are plenty more like it.

I told @AmpCode to scrape the sitemap for me, and it discovered all 16 notes and turned them into a (temporary) feed 😎
