The response from Kurdish nationalists on twitter regarding the recent Assyrian peaceful demonstrations is very interesting. The following are from what I have seen from Kurdish nationalist accounts here on twitter. 1 - They truly do not have 'democratic' and 'free' values. They claim to have freedom yet they call for oppression, censorship, and even expulsion of any of their citizens who express their rights and freedoms. To truly be a region that has freedom you have to be willing to allow citizens to freely express themselves, even against your beliefs. 2 - They are extremely hypocritical. They shout on top of the mountain tops of the land grabs and land theft that happens by Arabs in Kirkuk, Turks in Turkey, etc. yet, when Kurds do the exact same thing to Assyrians, we are supposed to not say anything about it. 3 - They are really bad at history. They keep touting the same old points regrading Assyrians not fighting against Saddam, yet the most basic and rudimentary google search will show that Assyrians literally allied with Kurds in the uprisings and fought against Saddam to liberate their northern towns and villages from Ba'athi rule. 4 - They are masters of "whataboutism". They always try to deflect the topic away from the actual matter at hand (Kurdish land theft and land grabs), and they deflect to 'whatbout' arguments regarding Arabs, Persians, and Turks. It seems they do not have the capacity to understand that two things can occur at the same time at once.
