Coming soon in OscarWatch SSTV: a big round of decoder work aimed at satellite passes. Weak signals, fades, and pictures caught halfway through all get handled better. A quick look at what's on the way 🧵📡

📐 Fix slant by clicking the top and bottom of an edge that should be straight. ▶️ Decode last session again lets you retry a pass straight away with different settings. Martin M3/M4 and Scottie S3/S4 are added too.

🧪 Every change was tested against real ISS, UmKA-1 and SakhaCube recordings, and against a simulated satellite link with fades and Doppler. Coming in the next OscarWatch release.

Using OscarWatch and need a hand? 🛰️ The best place for support and advice is the OscarWatch support system: oscarwatch.org/support I can't keep up with questions scattered across social media, but everything posted there gets answered.

SSTV sync in OscarWatch is improved. A noisy sync pulse was splitting in two, so a Robot 36 picture could be read as Robot 72. Those pieces are joined again and the mode stays right.

OSCARWATCH by @mm9sql is proving super-useful indeed. I just did some listening today while tweaking program and my TS2000X radio plus V2000 vertical antenna. Some great FT4 decodes on an RS44 afternoon pass. Looking forward to making lots of Qs. @AmsatUK @amsat

Working the ARISS SSTV event this weekend? OscarWatch Tracker handles the Doppler and decodes the images, so there's no Doppler.SQF to fiddle with. Post your best ISS decode below 👇 I'm away contesting, but I'll reshare the best ones when I'm back. oscarwatch.org

One more stable release of Cloudlog Aurora V1 is coming at the end of next week. After that, the next version will run on Windows, Mac and Linux, which is a huge step forward. Aurora's code is also getting a proper tidy-up, and once that's done, it'll be open-sourced.
