downloading & installing a win11 vm to test something out, im staggered how many gb of updates and how many hours (!) it takes to install and update itself from a freshly downloaded 4gb ISO. modern OSes man. smdh
TIL that web audio file import has terrible resampling with no antialias filter wtf. I whinged about this api previously: theres also no way to find out the sample rate of a file, without writing your own mp4/wav/aiff/ogg/etc parsers. its a perfect storm of shit...

And btw, podcasts that are in various stages of release pipeline include:
- @mmalex Hardware from Scratch - live design of the tiniest game console
- @DelaneyGillilan on why JS sucks, but web itself doesn't (Datastar btw)
- @antovsky (one more Large Arrays of Things + joint Code Review of Anton's games from 2008)
- @miketuritzin on his SDF engine & upcoming game
- @filpizlo & @cmuratori on Fil-C & memory safety more broadly
- @zeuxcg on meshoptimizer (tons of cool awesome graphics info!!)
- @castano on his time at Nvidia, Thekla & Spark - realtime GPU texture codec (hats off!)
Since it's a lot the plan is to pick up the pace for couple of weeks and release two episodes weekly.
Are you ready?

The demoscene was a great way to learn how to build and ship.
βI had to come up with a concept, design, model, code, edit, sync... and "finish" it all before the deadline.
βYou should try making a demo someday.
fantastic video. love the dune closeup & decimation to simulate the inconsistency in game filtering. and h/t to the order 1886, a game graphically so far ahead of its time, most of us still havent caught up yet
