my 2nd proudest ebay score.
SLIDATHON (MIT Media Lab/Architecture Machine Group, 1976) 54,000 images from the MIT Slide Library photographed on 16mm, meant to be transferred to Laserdisc to demonstrate the possibilities of optical media for random-access storage. Insanely memorable. 18fps, silent, 50 mins.

This is tonight!!! The second-ever screening of these beautiful films from Parine Jaddo ✨
I'm excited to announce "My Heart Falls at Daybreak," a special screening of Iraqi-Lebanese director Parine Jaddo's short film trilogy. These works were the highlight of this year's Prismatic Ground festival, and I'm excited to present these works in their second-ever screening.

What an amazing thing to read in this great @toneglow interview w/ Karen Sperling on the eve of the 1st screening of her 1971 feature MAKE A FACE in 50+ years: "I wanted to share an individual so deeply that people could come to know themselves. Now, I finally know I succeeded."
Earlier this week I spoke with Karen Sperling. She is part of the Warner Bros. family but made two incredible, independent psychodramas in the 1970s that can be described as proto-Yvonne Rainer. One was made with the first all-women film crew. They've recently been revived.

"The bottom line was that dreams, fantasy, and reality are all equal. I wanted to depict life in that way." —Karen Sperling @misterminsoo talks with the American filmmaker about her two recently revived psychodrama masterpieces, MAKE A FACE (1971) and THE WAITING ROOM (1973)

the bad news about our 35mm print for tonight's WOLFEN screening is that it's pretty faded (lots of color remaining, but the darks have mostly gone brown). the good news is that it retains the Tom Waits cameo cut out of most available versions of the film

we are constantly being televised a holocaust, i don’t know how you can be a human being and not feel an unfathomable despair at the conditions of our world and the outright nazis who cheer this on
