Last year, thousands of devs used @kirodotdev to bring dead tech back to life. Kiroween is back, and I can't wait to see what you resurrect this time.
$100k in cash prizes, builds due Dec 4. There's a number of other prizes, like a prize for the best Kiro Crew app or the best student project. Git commit to the darkness. 🎃 --> kiroween.devpost.com
Box and @awscloud are bringing Box Agent Skills to @kirodotdev through compatibility with Kiro Powers.
Developers building Box integrations get Box-specific guidance baked into their agentic development environment: APIs, authentication patterns, content workflows, and Box AI capabilities. Box remains the governed source of truth and maintains existing permissions and controls throughout.
As AI agents (mostly Kiro Crew but others as well) become a bigger part of my life at work and home, I am reminded of something that was mentioned in the Kiro frontier engineering guide. It's the bit where the guide talks about the skill that you keep developing is managing your own attention (kiro.dev/topics/frontier-eng…). At any given time I am connected to at least four Kiro Crew gateways, and across them there are multiple sessions and bots that are running all the time. Some need to be prompted, the others are watching for events. I've started using dashboards and other mechanisms to decide where I need to pay my attention, but how to ensure that my attention is focused on what it needs to be is a skill I find myself re-learning in a new context.
Cedar Waxwing's in the setting sun. I may have posted this before. Taken in 2013 in Issaquah when I was still using the Canon 7D (I have a very soft spot for that camera).

Can't wait for the tour.
Thank you to all those who attended two magical nights at the @RoyalAlbertHall, we now return to The Village for the upcoming final observance...
The rapid updates mean that I have to keep modifying my system, but It's coming along really well. Blog post incoming
Darn I missed this. :(
Walter Koenig, who played Chekov in the original “Star Trek” series and seven “Star Trek” feature films, has died at 90.

On this day in 1984, Deep Purple released their reunion album Perfect Strangers, the classic Mark II lineup’s first studio album since 1973’s Who Do We Think We Are.
Not sure about the name but this is cool :)
🚀 Excited to share BindClaw! 🦀
Starting from a prompt or research paper, BindClaw connects biological mechanisms to protein design: identify targets and binding sites → build mechanism-specific computational assays → generate and assess binders → refine designs using the results.
We use agents to evaluate whether designs fit the intended biological objective, including competition with a native partner and preference for a particular molecular state. 🧬
In a human-guided calmodulin campaign, 15 of 18 designs showed binding to calcium-loaded CaM, including subnanomolar binders supported by both BLI and SPR.
This work is an incredible team effort together with @DidiKieran , @saint__ai, @ Kyle Gion and @sacdallago and many others!

I'm noticing how much more personal and accurate Kiro feels with memories enabled (I've had it on for 7 weeks). I asked Kiro why that is, and it gave me a selection of the most useful, general memories it has about me:
- Where notes go: Durable notes and diagrams go in ~/obsidian/work/Area/Sub/ with Title Case names and inline mermaid diagrams
- Reporting status: Use emoji status markers for pass, caveat, and fail
- Bedrock client settings: Your default retry and timeout settings for AWS Bedrock clients
- Diagrams and mockups: Generate the file, render it, and look at the images. Layout problems only show up that way

Wouldn't I love a $8.50 ticket to a Pink Floyd concert. Storefronts are fun in big cities. Taken in NYC, Jan 2026.

So excited to introduce Infinity, an agent runtime in Rust for extreme concurrency!
Infinity brings a new architecture that treats agent concurrency as a scheduling problem, tool call primitives for asynchronous events, and native support for serverless.
