Our live virus SARS-CoV-2 studies from Denmark suggest that the level of BA.2.86 plasma neutralization is mostly comparable to that of XBB.1 and EG.5.1.

A total number of 10 BA.2.86 cases has been confirmed in Denmark. The variant is still circulating at a low level and cannot explain the increasing trend in SARS-CoV-2 transmission observed the recent month. – at Copenhagen, Denmark

One more BA.2.86 case have been found, increasing the number of Danish cases detected in Denmark to 4.

Very excited that our paper is now out in JAMA Network Open. Temporal virus neutralization of SARS-CoV-2 Omicron BA.1 after 2 and 3 doses of BioNTech/Pfizer mRNA vaccine. All credits to @Ria_Lassauniere for leading this. dx.doi.org/10.1001/jamanetwo…

Interesting pre-print that finds 47 BA.2 re-infections after BA.1, using amazing surveillance infrastructure in 🇩🇰. Although this reminds us that getting #Omicron once doesn't confer total immunity, I think overall this is good news. 🧵 medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/…
