This is a composite quotation combined with key phrases: while the Hebrew phrase “prepare the way” links Malachi 3:1 with Isaiah 40:3, the word ἑτοιμάζω in the LXX links Exodus 23:20 with Isaiah 40:3. Hays interprets the reference to Isaiah as reflecting a theological intent rather than ignorance:

What you and others are doing is not interpretation; it is identity theft.
Matthew explicitly identifies Jesus as the Son of Man who sits at God’s right hand and separates the sheep from the goats (Matt. 25:31–46; 26:64).
The Qur’an never calls Muhammad Daniel’s Son of Man or says he shares God’s throne. Qur’an 17:79 gives him a “station of praise,” traditionally understood as permitted intercession.
You have simply removed Jesus’ name and inserted Muhammad’s…. and literal co-enthronement would constitute shirk.

If the Quran already isolates Jesus with this title, why treat John 1:1 as unthinkable instead of as the verse that explains the title?

How come all the other prophets in the Old Testament from Moses & Jesus didn't address this and the manipulation came via Muhammad?
God promised Abraham a son when he had no child.
Then Ishmael was born.
About 14 years later, Isaac was born.
So why do Christians struggle with the possibility that Ishmael was the promised child?
Maybe because Ishmael also became a great nation and the forefather of the Arab peoples.
Could it be that admitting Ishmael was the promised son would force them to rethink far more than just the story of Abraham?
Maybe denial is easier than confronting what that would mean.

This is Khalid ibn Al Walid. Muhammad called him Sayf Allah, meaning the Sword of Allah.
