If I owned a plantation, I'd put a suggestion box on it. The slaves would split into two factions and fight each other instead of the managers. Sound familiar? Full episode: youtu.be/R0eLf-CDcXk #Libertarian #Democracy #Freedom

I'm back in the content production biz! Referendums and mid-terms not going your way? Spending all your time, energy and capital trying to bend the world to your will only to fall frustratingly short? The problem isn't bad leaders, nefarious puppet masters or corruption. Its the idea of the nation state itself. What if we could have a nation without a state? Stop Fixing the State, Start Building a Nation youtu.be/R0eLf-CDcXk?si=RnSt…

Trump should just join the Democratic Party, declare a sweeping victory and get on with business.

Ha! We don’t have to let irreconcilable differences stoke resentment. Let’s not even call it a divorce, let’s just annul confederation. Forced marriages are illegitimate and don’t lead to harmony. Let’s just be friendly neighbours instead.
Voici l'occasion. ❌🛢️ ⚡️⚜️ @ZumretErkin @patbonin @Alduceppe @EmondCa @mariosimardbq @JeanDenisGaron1 @Gabriel_SMarie lapresse.ca/affaires/economi… via @lp_lapresse

I’d prefer you just lower my damn taxes and give me unsolicited investment advice. But, if you’re going to confiscate my earnings I guess I’d prefer you make shitty investments with your plunder. So this is a close second.
Canadians will own a stake in Cohere’s world-leading secure AI.  An investment for Canadians, by Canadians.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
On LMArena, people vote blindly on best AI answers. Cohere’s best model, Command A, ranks around 210th. On Vals.ai’s coding test, Command A scored 7.8%, dead last out of 88 models. Cohere AI is not world-leading in objective or subjective analysis, based upon the data. arena.ai/leaderboard/te… artificialanalysis.ai/models artificialanalysis.ai/models/creator… vals.ai x.com/m1ddy/status/2… x.com/ArtificialAnly…

A single laptop? Is Hunter Biden working for Binance?
Investigation update: Our initial investigation suggested that the security incident may have involved a compromised laptop, however our subsequent investigation has uncovered additional points of breach. This was a complex attack, and we are doing all we can in coordination with law enforcement to resolve it. We are still gathering the facts, and will share more directly as we have them. Binance will cover all losses from the SAFU fund and the company’s funds. User funds are safe. We are still on track towards the expected timeline to resume the withdrawal service in 45 hours. Deposits remain unaffected. The outflows ceased when we paused withdrawal service earlier. We are still working with partners to freeze many of the impacted assets, and have frozen around $3 billion thus far. We will continue to provide further updates through official Binance channels as more verified information becomes available.

The best form of voting or democracy, that captures preference even better than proportional representation or ranked choice, is just a free market. I’ll pay for my own megalomaniac to boss me around and take my earnings and you pay for your own. It’s the only way to truly have our democratic preferences captured.
JD Vance on ranked choice voting: "I don't understand it. It seems to me that you have an election, the person who wins the most votes should win. That seems to be not what happens with ranked choice voting. The fact that it's so confusing to a person who pays pretty close attention to politics I think suggests we should do our elections in, like, the normal way."

In fairness, this is about as silly as any other claim of authority heads of "state" make. At least this one isn't confiscating my money, guns and lawn darts. All hail Queen Ramona!
I had a letter from the Queen of Canada waiting on my desk in the newsroom this morning. Guess I should feel honored to be included in the crazy. And happy it wasn't to my home address.

Ha! Love it when Kinsella loses his patience with statists.
Replying to @robt_heartdoc
what makes you think it's the job of the state to ensure that there is an optimal amount of pharma innovation? Or that state policy accomplishes this, or that it's just? The idea that the state needs to grant a monopoly to protect you from competition for an arbitrary amount of years to allow you to charge monopoly pricing for 17 or so years to "recoup" the immense costs imposed by the state's fucking FDA in the first place is insane. How about abolish the fucking FDA and have the law protect property rights and do justice instead of running around and fucking things up with interventions in the name of fixing "market failures" that don't exist and that the state creates anyway and that require ever more interventions? Jesus effing christ people and happy fucking Sunday

People who offer me nothing constantly criticize people who offer me life saving services.
Libertarians think taxation is theft but somehow charging $800 for an ambulance ride is the beautiful expression of voluntary exchange.

Sheesh! Savage take down of conservatives and their complicity in the fall of the West.

Jesus. This may be so much worse than initial reports. Praying it’s not true…
Accounts from someone on the firing line was it was a shoulder fired HE round that "Dolphined" after it left the tube and went astray. NOT artillery. This round hit a gas well which exploded and flattened the 3 Kill Houses that were full of troops which happened to be in close proximity of the well. Approx 300 troops inside and many waiting outside them. There is nothing but splinters left of them. This also started a major fire that was fed by high winds that swept through the main Bivouac site housing the majority of troops in the field. The amount of injured is staggering and the fatality count IS going to climb as they recover more victims. In my 20+ years in the Army, I have only heard of a dolphining round happening once from a shoulder fired rocket. Not sure what would cause this other than possibly a faulty propellent.

Imagine Alberta flooded with physicians and healthcare workers because healthcare becomes legal and healthcare workers are finally free to provide value to patients without a coercive middleman throttling and rationing care. That’s what’s at stake. That’s why I’m voting to separate.
Imagine Alberta with 6 in 10 doctors gone. That's what separation means. The Alberta Medical Association confirms it. Don't wait. VOTE NOW. Vote NO for questions 1–9. And , Vote option 1 on question 10 to stay in Canada.
