America, more than any other nation in world history, was shaped by the Christian tradition of spreading the gospel unto all nations.
Join us in celebrating International Religious Freedom Day.
If we can get a group together, we can lure someone with a priestly vocation to an established flock. Or, if your just curious, come and hang out. I have frequent campfires and live on a quiet lake. I have lots of books I would love to discuss with others. And, if books are not

Gen X, we are not the passed over or forgotten generation. For a long time I thought this way, and clouded my judgment on things. But now I see we have a very important assignment. We are to be the enduring, resetting generation.
We endured watered down, pottery barn churches that built pastoral brands and not the kingdom of God, so we reset by making that old time religion great again.
We endured being latch key kids, so we now reset by being there for our kids.
We endured mass divorce, so we now reset by finishing the race with the wife of our youth.
We endured being the first porn is mainstream generation on video snd computers, so we reset by making it as difficult as possible to obtain it in the future and making monogamy and the nuclear family hot again.
We endured being passed on mountains of debt that can never be repaid well into our prime earning years, so we reset by making sure we leave our kids an inheritance. If possible, we give it to them early when they need our help. And they’re gonna need more help with the down payment on their first house at 25 or 30 than a bunch of money at 50 when we die.
We endured grandparents that posted more Facebook vacation than pics of their grandkids, so we reset by taking some vacations (we worked hard too) in retirement but prioritizing being there for our adult kids and our grandkids. And because we want to be. Grandkids are the ultimate inheritance of a life well lived. Work as hard at being there for them that love us as we did being there for a boss who didn’t.
And if we endure and reset in this way as much as possible, we will have won our millennial children and Gen Z grandchildren the opportunity to truly make America great again.
Morning prayers this time of year are special. Praying while God is also distracting you with His Glory.

Prayers change things. Getting a Saint to pray for you really changes things. I still shake my head on how swift things changed and I am forever thankful.

Father Zechariah Lynch joined me to discuss Covid, the Church, forgiveness and repentance. Here he reads something a priest friend of his wrote that provides a blueprint for any hierarch or clergy who fell for the scam and closed parishes, changed Communion practices, etc. If those who did these things practiced this sort of repentance, the healing can start. ☦️
You think things are bad and this must be the end times. Read about the gulags and people like Fr. George Calciu and how the communists and socialists treated Christians. They tortured and killed most of them. Or, Sodom, they pulled people out of their houses and raped them.
Pray for someone to start an Orthodox mission on the east side of Northern Michigan. One that isn't 2 hours away from me.

"If your marriage is like this, your perfection will rival the holiest of monks."
St John Chrysostom's advice to husbands:
+ Never speak to your wife in a mundane way but with compliments, with respect and with much love.
+ Tell her that you love her more than your own life, because this present life is nothing, and that your only hope is that the two of you pass through this life in such a way that in the world to come, you will be united in perfect love.
+ Say to her, 'Our time here is brief and fleeting, but if we are pleasing to God, we can exchange this life for the Kingdom to come. Then we will be perfectly one both with Christ and with each other, and our pleasure will know no bounds. I value your love above all things, and nothing would be so bitter or painful to me as our being at odds with each other. Even if I lose everything, any affliction is tolerable if you will be true to me.'
+ Show her that you value her company, and prefer being at home to being out at the marketplace
+ Esteem her in the presence of your friends and children
+ Praise and show admiration for her good acts; and if she ever does anything foolish, advise her patiently.
+ Pray together at home and go to Church; when you come back home, let each ask the other the meaning of the readings and the prayers.
If your marriage is like this, your perfection will rival the holiest of monks.

Many men of my generation did not leave Christianity because they studied themselves out of it. They left because the version of Christianity handed to them was too small to command their lives.
It was sentimental, embarrassed, therapeutic, worldly, and weak. It asked nothing great of them. It gave them no banner to fight under, no fathers to imitate, no civilization to inherit, no enemies to name, no duties to shoulder, and no King to obey in public.
The church had Christ on the sign, but the world in the pulpit. It spoke in Christian vocabulary while repeating the same moral assumptions that came from the television, the university, the HR department, the algorithm, and the regime.
