Been working on a custom tool for pixel art normal map and luminance mask generation/editing.
Thinking of releasing it for free under an open-source license.
Would any gamedevs be interested in this?
Been working on my game's landing page for a while. Hand pixeling everything takes time but its coming together!
I dont want to start any rage wars but i guess its really true that even presenting an idea online gets you vibe-cloned quickly.

This open-source tool generates normal maps for pixel art sprites
It works with both single sprites and animated sprite sheets, turning flat pixel art into assets that can react to dynamic lighting in-game.
You can run it:
> locally from the CLI
> directly in the browser with WASM
That makes it pretty easy to drop into an existing pixel art pipeline without depending on a hosted service.
Small tool, but genuinely useful if you want 2D sprites to have more depth without repainting everything by hand.
Here's a quick look at some of the editing features in Pixel Art Lighter.
The tool will be fully free and open source!
Thank you everyone for the overwhelming response and interest! 💜
I didnt expect this since this was intended primarely as an internal tool for my game.
Time to add some tooltips so its easier to use.
I'll be sure to post when its ready for release!
trust the process
