I’m in contact with many people who have left this app and are still OT7, still caring, still hoping and simply waiting for #that news. There are genuinely so many people outside of this awful bubble who haven’t given up, you just don’t see them. This app can become such an overwhelming echo chamber of negativity, cruelty and hate that it slowly drains you. If you choose to stay, please don’t contribute to that negativity too. When a space is already drowning in it, adding more only makes everything more unbearable. After seeing enough of it every day, it becomes easy to believe that this is what everyone thinks, that everyone is fighting, that everyone has given up. It isn’t. If you can, step away. Post encouragement instead. Go to other platforms, focus on your own life, talk to people who bring you peace and remind yourself that this app is not a reflection of reality. You don’t have to constantly expose yourself to something that leaves you exhausted just because everyone else seems to be doing it. And if you’re still choosing to believe, you have your own reasons for doing so. You also have your own timing, your own way of processing things and, if necessary, your own time to prepare yourself and figure out how you want to deal with whatever comes next. Nobody else gets to decide that for you. But whatever you choose, please be respectful. You don’t have to agree with someone else’s decision, but you don’t need to attack, belittle or discourage them either. And, very important: regardless of what you decide, constantly exposing yourself to this level of negativity and hatred cannot be good for you. Whoever you are, whatever “side” you’re from. There is a whole world outside this bubble. People are still here. People are still caring. People are still hoping. So please don’t let this place convince you that everyone has given up or that hope is gone. They’re still fighting. We’re still waiting.
