Soooo for those who have not heard, I wrote a book! A plus-size small-town Vermont romcom, to be exact! I recently signed with a literary agent and am now prepping to submit it to publishers :)
YESSS this is why romcoms have side characters!!!
I do have suchhhhh personal beef with the guys who make whole platforms off of blatantly objectifying, stereotyping, and sexualizing fat women and act like they’re doing activism or something 🙃
Milestones/accomplishments I believe are just as deserving of praise as marriage/kids:
-getting an advanced degree
-getting a new job or promotion
-career change
-moving to a new city
-buying a car
-finishing a creative project
-taking yourself on an international trip
When you are unmarried & childless there is an undeniable pressure to show off other accomplishments. Like your career has to be exceptional in order to justify “choosing it over” a relationship

“stop caring what other people think, you’re weak for that!” we are interconnected social creatures literally wired to care about belonging to a group. total individualism is a fantasy when other people’s respect or lack thereof can literally determine how your life goes.
They also just do not consider women they don’t find attractive…like they forget they exist
Wow this is EXACTLY how fat women get approached all the freaking time and a lot of those men have zero qualms about telling us exactly what they’re into about us (and fat women in general)
