Yeah from 2012-2016 especially I learned SO much about this industry, and it got my foot in the door for working in publishing. When people ask me for pub resources now for those starting out, I feel unhelpful bc I can’t recommend Twitter for it anymore
I think a lot of ppl don’t understand how valuable a resource this site was for international writers trying to break into the US/UK publishing industry. That’s why it’s hard to see it crumble; b/c I know others like me won’t get that chance now (& moving elsewhere won't fix it)

Remember how when they first revealed FFXVI they had us believe Clive was gonna be this super angry edgy dude and then it turns out he's the softest fluffiest man with eyes you lose yourself in if

I am so pleasantly surprised by FFXVI because it’s painted over with this veneer of gritty darkness but there is a lot of sweetness and fluffiness right beneath that and it’s adorable

One thing I wish more querying folks knew earlier on: If a book has 8 requests outta 10 queries, and if it has an offer within hours... ...that's the market talking. And that's not a reflection of you, your skills, or your product if you don't get those requests and that sale.

Hot take: A house in the suburbs is way scarier than an apartment in the city. Like, what do you mean there are multiple points of entry & I can’t see them all at the same time??? And how are my neighbors supposed to hear me scream if we don’t share any walls???

Having more than one floor in their house. I have still never lived in a two-story house! Though when filming Pacifier they let my family stay in one and it felt like a castle
what are random things growing up that made you think other households were “rich”? Mine was when people had an ice maker in their fridge and didn’t need to use trays 😭

Biggest FFXVI surprise for me so far is how quickly I warmed to Clive. I fully expected to hate this guy and have him be Mr. McGruff Man but he is a sweetie

I’m a literary snob about classics but also about trash. Like if you’re gonna talk to me I’d prefer you’ve read Ulysses (Joyce) and also My Immortal (Gilesbie)

Can’t believe Crystal Clear went from being one of my less favorites off Petals for Armor to one of my favorite love songs ever

LRT that Always Sunny episode literally was what won me over to loving the show. Initially I wasn’t sure I liked it but that episode. Just. Masterful
