it’s actually such a tone shift that maddie hasn’t been involved in buck’s theo arc. in the show up to now she has always been buck’s first call when shit is that serious! it feels significant that this is completely between buck & eddie right now

this happened in mother’s boy too. it was kind of silly that none of the other characters zoomed out to NM right away — maddie tried eventually but she waited uncharacteristically long. reads to me like a (heavy handed) writing choice to keep the emphasis on buck & eddie

it really is like fanfic haha. the name of the game of canon-verse fics is to tweak dynamics to better set up your ship. it’s possible this shift is setting up a buckley sibling conflict? but to me (biased) it reads as eddie officially becoming buck’s first call
