Last week @Shterni and I welcomed the newest addition to our family into the Covenant G-d made with Abraham and the Jewish people. We named him Yosef Alexander. 1/8 nitter.cf/mottiseligson/status/2…

🕯️Two years ago, the world was shocked to learn that terrorists had abducted and killed Rabbi Zvi Kogan, who worked tirelessly to provide kosher food to Jewish residents and travelers in the UAE. As time passes, his loss is felt more and more profoundly by the many people touched by his ready smile, welcoming Shabbat table, and giant heart. May his memory be a blessing for all.

Statement on the Revocation of the Citizenship of Thailand’s Jewish Community’s Chief Rabbi Jewish life in Thailand stretches back centuries, from merchants recorded in the Kingdom of Ayutthaya in the 17th century to German Jewish refugees admitted in the 1930s, and from the formal establishment of the Jewish Association of Thailand in 1964 to a vibrant community today. Rabbi Yosef Kantor established Chabad in Thailand more than 30 years ago and serves as Chief Rabbi of the Jewish community of Thailand. Throughout that time, Thailand has been home to him and his family. We respect the Kingdom of Thailand, its laws, its institutions, and the Thai people, and we are grateful for the Kingdom’s hospitality over the years. In addition to serving Jewish travelers and residents, Rabbi Kantor has led the Jewish community’s efforts to help the Thai people through floods, a tsunami, and a pandemic, as well as the challenges of everyday life. We are saddened by the decision to revoke Rabbi Kantor’s citizenship. We are addressing the matter through the proper legal channels, with full confidence in the Thai legal system, and we look forward to continuing to work together with the Thai authorities and people for many years to come. Chabad Houses and synagogues in Thailand are operating as usual. They will continue to warmly welcome every Jew who comes here and to help all the people of Thailand. - Chabad of Thailand

After posting this yesterday, getting a few comments and learning more about @JakeLang, I should really say: Jake, it's time to come home to your people! See the Rebbe's moving read of the Talmud "Lukus! Lukus!" and the deep connection of the Jewish soul with its people.

This Sukkot we saw G-d's protection again as a terror hijacking of a flight to Israel was foiled. 50 years ago at Entebbe, Jewish children answered another hijacking with Torah, reciting the 12 passages the Rebbe had launched weeks earlier. Read it here on @Chabad: chabad.org/7420123

On Sukkot we remember how the Almighty sheltered us as we wandered in the desert. Thousands of years later, He's still watching over His people at 30,000 feet in the air and on the ground. Chag sameach!
