Have you driven by the little white 1880s chapel on Kingston Pike in Bearden – right next to Pelican's SnoBalls?⛪The historic building has lived many lives, most recently as a Brazilian jiu jitsu studio, even with the surviving gravesite in its backyard. This Sunday, Nov. 1, it will open its doors again as a faith-based gift store: Saint Clare Collective💙 Founded by Allie Fleming, the store is rooted in her Catholic faith and grew partly from the closing of The Paraclete, Knoxville’s longtime Catholic bookstore and gift shop, which shut its doors in 2024 after 37 years. Saint Clare Collective, however, will carry a wide range of products from spiritual to secular and devotional to whimsical.🌼📙🎀🪆🎨🕯️It will offer Catholic, other Christian and spiritual items, as well as secular, non-religious merchandise. ✨As Susan Espiritu wrote in @knoxtntoday's new business spotlight: “The restored chapel offers a reminder that a building’s history does not have to end when its original purpose changes. Sometimes, with a little vision and a lot of family effort, an old landmark can become part of the neighborhood’s future.”✨ Read more: knoxtntoday.com/new-business….
