That would be the first race on radial tires - Spring race, North Wilkesboro 1989. It was also Dale's last win in that body style Monte Carlo. The car was parked as it was because they were pretty much using all new chassis for the Luminas and they were switching to the Lumina body two races later.

I need to double check the exact history of this car (paging @ArchivesDe ) but it's the same one as was used in Kirk Shelmerdine's NASCAR HoF display a few years ago.

Very heartbreaking news for the Gas Monkey family today as we learned about the passing of the one and only Sue Martin.
