The best conversations about AI don't always happen at conferences. Sometimes they happen over a drink.
Join me tomorrow at Boxyard RTP as we get together to talk about what's happening in AI, what people are actually building, and where things might be headed.
There's plenty of AI news to keep up with, but I always find it more interesting to hear what people are trying firsthand. What's working, what's not, and what they've learned along the way.
If you're in the Triangle area and interested in AI, come join us. Whether you're building with it, using it at work, or just curious about where it's going, there's always something to learn from the people in the room.
📅 Tomorrow, October 29
📍 Boxyard RTP
Come out, meet some interesting people, and join the conversation. I'd love to see you there.

AI needs more than a place in your product. It needs a way to use it.
As AI agents take on more tasks for people, product teams need to rethink how software is designed. It’s no longer just about screens, buttons, and navigation. It’s about building products that work for both people and AI agents.
How should agents interact with your software? What capabilities do they need? And what does this mean for the future of product design?
Join Mark Hinkle @mrhinkle on November 6 for “Agent-Native Apps: Rethinking What We Build.” He’ll share his perspective on AI/UX and demonstrate his approach using ConferenceOS.

Jensen Huang talking to robot ducks was not on my AI bingo card for 2026. 🦆
But here we are. 😂
The NVIDIA CEO, surrounded by a bunch of robotic ducks, has the internet talking. And honestly, I can’t decide what’s funnier: the ducks themselves or the fact that this is somehow a perfectly normal thing to see in the AI world now. We’ve gone from chatbots answering questions to robots waddling around and getting their moment with Jensen Huang. The future is getting weird — and I’m here for it. 🤖
Now I’m curious: what are we calling this — a breakthrough in robotics or just quack-tastic PR?
👇 Give me your take in the comments. And if you could give one robot an everyday job, what would it be?

Quick question: what’s the best thing you’ve learned at All Things Open @allthingsopen so far today? 👇
If you’re in Raleigh, you’ve probably noticed that AI is everywhere on the schedule this year. More than 40 sessions cover agents, LLMs, security, open source AI, and real-world builds, and the talks are only half of it. Between sessions, the hallway is where it gets good. Everyone is swapping notes on what’s working, what broke, and what they wish they’d known six months ago.
📅 Today, Tue, Oct 20 📍 Atlantic Union Bank Convention Center, Raleigh, NC
Still have energy left? Pick one more AI session this afternoon, then introduce yourself to someone new on the way out. That’s how the best connections start.

What if AI could write like you, sound like you, and communicate in your voice? 🤖
AI can draft an email, a LinkedIn post, or a proposal in seconds. But getting it to sound like you? That’s a different challenge.
Join us for this month’s AI for Business meetup in Charlotte on October 27, where we’ll explore how to make AI talk, write, and sound like you—so the emails, posts, and proposals it drafts are ready to send without a complete rewrite.

What if your next software user isn’t a person, but an AI agent? 🤔🤖
For decades, product teams have designed around what people see, click, and navigate. But as AI agents increasingly act on our behalf, that assumption is changing.
Software needs to be designed for both human users and the agents working for them.
On November 6, Mark Hinkle, Co-Founder of All Things AI, will speak at ProductCampRTP about Agent-Native Apps: Rethinking What We Build.
He’ll explore why we need a deliberate AI/UX layer for agents and demonstrate the approach using ConferenceOS as a working example.
If you're building products for an AI-driven world, this is a conversation worth joining.

I run AI agents on four platforms and a Mac Mini. I never knew which one was stuck.
So I built Agent Kontrol: one screen for the whole fleet. Who’s working, who needs me, is the backlog shrinking.
Plus a 3D view called the Gibson. Yes, that Gibson.
Open source. AI voiceover.
Self-hosted, Apache 2.0, runs on Neon or any Postgres. 1.0 beta, so tell me what breaks.

AI can write the code. But can you design the system?
Join us on October 20 at 12 PM EST for our Lunch & Learn with Byron Mackay, Director of Learning at Gauntlet AI, on why system design matters more than ever in the age of AI.
AI can generate functions, build features, and speed up development. But what happens when your system needs to scale, handle failures, or adapt to changing requirements?
That’s where architectural judgment comes in.
In this session, we’ll explore:
✅ Why system design is becoming an even more valuable engineering skill
✅ How to think through load, scale, failure, and long-term change
✅ How to build stronger design instincts with Claude as a tutor
Byron brings 16+ years of engineering experience and now trains hundreds of engineers to work AI-first.
If you’re a software engineer looking to move beyond writing code and toward making better technical decisions, this session is for you.

When you consult, you know it won’t last forever.
So I picture how it ends. My clients ringing the NASDAQ bell. Or maybe an acquisition. It's not my company, so the best I can hope for is that one day we all look back and agree I had some small part in their success.
Today I got my wish.
I’ve known @Roebot for more than 20 years. Today he announced that @opaquesys next leg of the journey is with Anthropic.
Aaron and Opaque’s founders took one of AI's most important privacy techniques, confidential computing, and made it work.
You can run AI on your most sensitive data without exposing that data to anyone, including the people who run the infrastructure.
Don’t take my word for it:
“Confidential Computing is super important.” – Jensen Huang, NVIDIA GTC 2026
That’s what it takes for enterprises to trust AI with the data that matters. Now @AnthropicAI helps carry that work forward.
Aaron, thank you for letting me tailgate on your road trip. I’m proud of you, and grateful I got to ride along for some of it.
And to @mosiddi , it’s been a lot of fun working with you, and I learned a lot from you. I wish you both the best in the next chapter.
I can’t wait to see what you do next.
P.S. If you’re building something with AI and could use some help, I can’t guarantee a bell at the NASDAQ. But I’d love to help you out. Send me a DM
🚨 Join us Monday, October 12, at 5 PM ET / 2 PM PT! Explore how we can verify what happens when AI runs on a machine we don’t control.
When an AI request runs on someone else’s machine, how do you know what actually happened?
This Monday, we’re bringing together three people working on different pieces of the AI trust puzzle to explore how evidence can make distributed AI systems more verifiable.
🎙️ Meet the speakers:
🔹 Michael Neale, founder and creator of Mesh-LLM, an open-source framework for connecting and orchestrating AI models and agents.
🔹 Steven Mih, founder of Action State, building infrastructure and tools to make AI agents more reliable, observable, and accountable.
🔹 Imran Siddique, founder of agentrust-io and contributor to TRACE, an open specification for portable, verifiable records of AI agent runs.
Here’s what we’ll explore:
🔹How Mesh-LLM records and shares signed, hash-chained evidence
🔹What two-sided confirmation looks like in a demo 🔹How TRACE records can complement exchange evidence
🔹What runtime and hardware evidence can establish — and what it cannot
This is a practical look at an important question for the future of AI: How do we move from trusting what an agent tells us to checking the evidence ourselves?

We're excited to have Mark Hinkle (@mrhinkle), CEO and Co-Founder of Peripety Labs, leading the all day workshop "AI Agents & Vibe Coding" at #AllThingsOpen! 2026.allthingsopen.org/sessi…
Would you trust an AI request handled by a machine you’ve never seen before?
That’s one of the harder questions we’ll tackle next week! 🚨 Join us Monday, October 12 at 5 PM ET / 2 PM PT for Mesh-LLM & Trusting a Stranger’s Machine, Part 2: Evidence You Can Check.
When an AI request runs on someone else’s machine, simply being told “it worked” isn’t enough.
So what if you could actually check the evidence?
🔗 Mesh-LLM’s Evidence plugin records signed, hash-chained evidence on each node and sends the signed records to both sides of the exchange.
We’ll walk through a demo showing:
→ Two-sided confirmation
→ A paid Lightning exchange
→ How the exchange can be represented alongside a TRACE record
→ What additional runtime and hardware evidence can tell us
→ And, importantly, where the limits of this approach are
Joining us are:
Michael Neale — Mesh-LLM
Steven Mih — Action State
Imran Siddique — agentrust-io / TRACE
If AI agents are going to work across machines we don’t control, evidence matters.
