As you know Barry, Ireland can't even do air policing. If a similiar incident happened in Irish airspace, we would be unable to escort it with jets. As other countries can. Thanks to @fiannafailparty/@FineGael underinvestment in Defence. The lowest budget in Europe.

Singapore's diplomatic ties with Indonesia may be tense recently over haze and energy issues. But it's still business as usual in the bilateral military realm, as both air forces elevated ties with an inaugural joint fighter patrol Patkor Indopura.👌🏽mindef.gov.sg/news-and-event…

Vice Admiral Nancy Lacore defied the odds, winning the race for South Carolina’s First Congressional District. Lacore was fired by Pete Hegseth without cause after 35 years of service to our country. She could have retired, but Lacore wasn’t ready to stop serving. Now she’ll represent South Carolina in Congress, and VoteVets is proud to have had her back.

Americans: angry because it's expensive to fill up the car to drive to the burger place. Europeans: Is this a rebuke of America First? Steadfast support for Ukraine? The end of the Iran war and of unconditional support for Netanyahu?

BREAKING: According to new information, the cyberattack carried out during the night of November 1–2 on European refrigeration systems has also affected frozen plasma intended for transfusions at the French Blood Establishment (EFS). The attack targeted Coolworld, a refrigeration service provider for the EFS, reportedly disrupting temperature-control systems used to store blood products in France. According to information revealed by the French weekly Le Canard enchaîné, hackers allegedly manipulated refrigeration systems, causing freezers normally maintained at approximately –30°C to be programmed to reach temperatures of up to 110°C. The incident reportedly affected facilities in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region. Even more concerning, frozen plasma intended for transfusions to patients was reportedly among the products affected, and not just donor samples used for health monitoring. Frozen plasma is a critical medical product used in hospitals, particularly in the treatment of severe hemorrhages and certain coagulation disorders. Its storage requires strict temperature controls to preserve its safety and effectiveness. A prolonged disruption of the cold chain could compromise these products and potentially require their withdrawal from use. According to reports, the incident was detected overnight by an on-call technician who noticed an abnormal rise in temperatures in the cold-storage facilities. The rapid detection reportedly allowed the situation to be addressed before any operational disruption occurred. The French Ministry of Health has stated that the incident had no operational consequences, and no compromised transfusions or harm to patients have been confirmed so far. However, several important details remain undisclosed, including the number of facilities affected, the duration of the temperature fluctuations, the actual temperatures reached inside the freezers, and the extent of the potential impact on stored plasma.

Finance called IT because a customer owed us $240,000 and nobody could find them. Customer name: TEST CUSTOMER DO NOT USE. I recognized it immediately. I created that account two years ago to test our billing software. It had a fake address. A fake phone number. The contact email was [email protected]. Apparently Sales found the account last quarter and used it to demonstrate our new quoting system. Someone accidentally converted the demonstration quote into a real order. That triggered an invoice. The invoice went unpaid. Our collections software sent seven payment reminders to [email protected]. Nobody responded. Finance escalated the account to a debt collection agency. The agency spent three weeks trying to locate TEST CUSTOMER DO NOT USE. They reported the company had no registered address, no employees, and no known assets. Finance classified the account as high-risk. Yesterday Legal asked me for the customer's original contract. I explained there was no customer. They asked whether we could prove that. I said I personally invented the company. Legal said that wasn't sufficient documentation. Apparently writing "DO NOT USE" in the customer name doesn't legally establish that the customer doesn't exist. We're now paying $8,000 for an external auditor to determine whether a company I made up owes us $240,000. Finance has asked me not to delete the account until the investigation concludes. It's our third-largest customer this quarter.
