Human rights lawyers Imaan Mazari-Hazir and Hadi Ali Chattha deserve justice. Today they were sentenced to ten years in prison on counts of “terrorism.” Their crime? Defending activists, lawyers and marginalized communities that were subjected to enforced disappearances and unjust charges.
They underwent an unfair trial for this fearless human rights work. Authorities must immediately release Imaan and Hadi and drop all charges against them.

انسداِ دھشت گردی عدالت کے جج طاہر عباس سپرہ نے ایڈوکیٹ ایمان مزاری اور انکے شوھر ایڈوکیٹ ھادی علی چٹھہ کیخلاف سڑک سے بیرئیر ہٹانے کے کیس میں دس دس سال قید کی سزا سنا دی۔ سپریم کورٹ نے پیکا کیس میں دونوں وکیل میاں بیوی کو دی گئی سترہ سال کی قید کی سزا معطل کرتے ہوئے ضمانت پر رہا کرنے کا حکم دیا تھا جسکے بعد سڑک سے بیرئیر ہٹانے والے کیس کو پہئیے لگ گئے تھے اور ایمان اور ھادی کی اسلام آباد ہائی کورٹ میں دائر متفرق درخواستوں کو بریکیں لگا دی گئی تھی۔
ایمان اور ھادی نے سپریم کورٹ میں بھی متفرق درخواستیں دائر کر رکھیں تھی۔ آج کے اس فیصلے کے بعد ہائی کورٹ اور سپریم کورٹ میں دائر متفرق درخواستیں و اپیلیں غیر موثر ہو گئی ہیں۔یہ اپیلیں آج تک سماعت کے لئیے مقرر نہیں کی گئی تھیں۔ سپریم کورٹ سے ضمانت پر رہائی پانے کے بعد ایڈوکیٹ ایمان اور ھادی کو عوامی احتجاج کے ایک کیس میں دھشت گردی کے الزام میں گرفتار کیا گیا تھا جس میں ضمانت کی درخواست پر تفتیشی افسر لگاتار چار مرتبہ جج ابوالحسنات کی عدالت سے ریکارڈ سمیٹ غائب ہوتا رہا اور اس میں آئندہ تاریخ 3 نومبر کے لئیے مقرر ہے۔

I, Munazza Siddiqui, demand that the federal and provincial governments immediately ban the manual entry of sanitation workers into sewage gutters for cleaning and unclogging. This is an assault on human dignity and a violation of basic human rights. Replace this dangerous, degrading practice with modern machinery, proper equipment and strict safety measures. We have the money, we have the machinery. So what are we waiting for. End this inhuman practice. For God's sake, choose humanity over hypocrisy. Digital #Pakistan means nothing if we cannot guarantee basic human dignity.
