Yesterday, we reached our 100th liver exchange transplant of 2026, marking the third consecutive year with at least 100 transplants!
Banu Bedestenci Sönmez (BBS) Liver Paired Exchange Program, İnönü University, Malatya, Türkiye. 1/5
Heartfelt thanks and congratulations to Prof. Sezai Yılmaz @profsezaiyilmaz and the entire team at İnönü University’s Liver Transplant Institute. Their extraordinary skill, dedication, and commitment to patients make these achievements possible. 4/5
We are also deeply grateful to the donors and families whose generosity and trust are at the heart of every exchange.

analytical eyes of an economist using distilled versions of much more complicated insights in our papers and theorems, etc.
Math serves as the foundation for most sciences as a language, and it needs this distillation even more if rational thinking is to remain a human endeavor.
Another related question is that if AI takes the joy of discovery away from mathematics, will there remain enough talented thinkers to do the rest of the service to the world of distillation, discovery of new techniques on the way to no more existent end goals, teaching,
and improving our rationality language?
So my take differs from the cynics.

I am late to this, but I wanted to show my support for this document. One can easily read this cynically, with alligator tears: mathematicians are trying to protect their turf; like labor unions in the past, they are against technology that would render them useless in the future
thinking along the way to the proofs- maybe more important than the discovery itself- and developing new ways and methods of looking at those concepts that eventually become part of even high school curricula in math and part of human depth, such as basic probability.
My reading is very different. While there is no doubt a sentimental take on their part and, yes, maybe some self-preservation instinct, this message is more about the way mathematicians' years-long distilling of the main message behind proofs and discovering new math and ways of

I am very excited to share that I will be joining @lunduniversity as an Assistant Professor in Economics. I’m looking forward to working with my new colleagues!
I cannot thank my advisors @tyfn_sonmez, @muunver and Rahul Deb enough for their guidance along the way.

Mersin sahildeki;
