Just returned from a weekend in Brugges. Journey out was beset by delay via Le Shuttle. Journey back was a piece of cake. 41/2 hours door to door!

Filling the car up I saw this van & took a photo in case I needed sometime. An hour later I found a wire in the side of a tyre on the car! Called them up and 55 minutes later they are on the drive replacing my tyre. What service!
Today’s highlight so far is putting the bins out in a howling gale and torrential rain . I have to haul them 150 metres to the road so by the time I got back inside I was soaked

It’s a lovely afternoon in the Shire. Sadly I am in a board meeting all afternoon. Shame when I went out on my morning it was raining, cloudy and a bit breezy. Got my timing all wrong
Tonight’s meal was a warm green leaf and pomegranate salad with duck Brest and a saffron infused garlic and lemon mayo. Forgot to take a photo so you’ll just have to imagine it
Tis’ October 1st. My fishery reopens for the Autumn season as does the Pheasant season. Possibly my favourite date of the year
Attended a friends funeral today. It was a humanist service at a humanist burial ground. I think that’s the way I want to go ! It was a great celebration
Plane home last night delayed so didn’t get home until 1am. Third load of washing on. Coming home from holiday just means endless jobs to catch up on. Worth it though for views like this
